"I'll admit I may have seen better days,
but I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail,
"(Margo Channing)
Halo
The Trump post as expected is dividing the troops.
So, I'm changing the subject, have lit the wood burner and put Mary on my knee.
She's a bit listless and needy
And is now asleep
I knew a dog which used a neck-bucket like that as a scoop to catch balls. Diverted straight into the gob without too much accuracy needed. If you left the Trump post up you may have lost 52% of your American followers, and that would have put a massive dent in your hit rate.
Some of John's American followers can remember when there was a dignity to the office of the presidency and I'm only 37. It's not unlike the embarrassment poor Mary feels with that cone stuck on her head I'd imagine.
I guess nobody wants to read nymore. I've spent the morning pasting in this: https://www.businessinsider.com/jim-acosta-video-white-house-appears-from-infowars-2018-11 in reply to anyone who says the CNN reporter beat up the intern. Yes, I am aware we shouldn't feed the trolls, but this hs my panties in a wad.
Those cones are the worst. Our dog lost her eye to glaucoma when she was elderly. She had one of those cones and between it and the missing eye she kept getting stuck in corners of the house for a week. It was the most pathetic thing ever. Plus, I think dogs are just plain embarrassed to be seen in them.
John, have you seen the cones that are about the same size but made of floppy material? They work for some pets... Hope the youngster is feeling better today!
I do not know what your post said but I feel everyone has a right to believe. I am 73 and have seen better behavior on both sides.
Now for the best news, Happy to see Mary today even with the "cone of shame" ! They have soft ones that are "floopyish" keeps them from chewing or scratching but I have not tried one for the gud dugs.
There are "soft cones" instead of those hard plastic ones. Much more comfortable for the dog and also doesn't knock lumps off the paintwork. Googling soft cone for dogs comes up with lots of different ones.
Poor love does indeed look listless... I am sure she has pain relief all sorted but a cocktail sausage does wonders as a distraction. Hope her ear is healing well... I have a very clumsy cat who seems to ding himself more often than not.. leaving holes and skin tears, I have taken to using charcoal powder to help heal the wounds, it seems to work well.
I am not well at present but I know this - I would rather be ill than have to nurse my dog through it - they need your love and can't tell you how they feel. Give her a gently stroke from me.
Poor old dog is looking about how I'm feeling. Had to call a hiatus on all things news-related and turn on reruns of reruns of GBBO and Time Team to regain my equilibrium.
Poor Mary. I really hate those cones. I've also tried those Comfy Cones which are a little more flexible but my little one hated it as well. I haven't seen that inflatable collar someone posted, though as Mary's surgery was on her ear, I don't think it would help. I used a special post operative body suit when my dog had surgery, but that was for pyometra, so again would not help Mary. I hope she is on the mend.
Just needs Dad time. Enjoy x
ReplyDeletePretty Mary feel better soon and snuggle upto Dad.x
ReplyDeleteBless hope she gets well soon xx
ReplyDeletePoor little Mary. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. Sending her lots of love.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwww!
ReplyDeleteIs the hole shrinking? We all are hoping the best for Haloed Mary.
ReplyDeleteThose dreadful plastic cones do the job they're designed for but do nothing for comfort.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon little Mary.
Bless her I'm sure a cuddle will make her feel better.
