Last night on Strictly
It's a miserable looking day and me and the troops have gone back to bed for an hour.
Think I shall go to the Storyhouse in Chester today to hear a talk by the writer Patrick Gale who wrote Man in an orange Shirt
and I shall sit in a trendy cafe with a flat white.
Moon River is a beautiful, atmospherc song and I'm not surprised it brought feelings to the surface.
ReplyDeleteLove to you.
xx
Have a good day. I shall go out later. Decided not to see Peterloo, didn't sound my sort of film.
ReplyDeleteI love Moon River sang by Andy Williams, we watched strickly and loved the dance. Hope you enjoyed your lay and and have a Fab-U-lous day out.
ReplyDeleteMy dad been an extreme Labour man , drilled Peterloo into me as a child that and events hed been present at. The fall of Berlin to the Russians the liberation of the camps, The rise of Israel. The movie of Peterloo is one i wil wait for methinks
ReplyDeleteKate, I studied Peterloo in minute detail for 'O' level history. I too shall give this film a miss!
DeleteIve changed my mind off to a writers talk
DeleteJohn, You are not mawkish just cut yourself some space and be kind to yourself like you are to everyone else. To love, to feel and learn how to carry on is sometimes a painful process but a very human one. You have to work through things a little at a time. One day at a time and don't forget to breathe inbetween. Have a lovely cuddle with the gang. Their love is unconditional and enjoy your time out. Everyone needs that. Hugs and take care Pattypanxx
ReplyDeleteYes they do help
DeleteEnjoy the day.

Not much fun going out at the moment - we are being hemmed in by road works. Hope you and the 'troupes' have a lovely relaxed day. xx
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you were being mawkish, just feeling pain. Love and pain are two sides of the same thing, unfortunately. I hope your day out lifts you in unexpected ways.
ReplyDeleteWell i may have a cake with my coffee
DeleteI love Patrick Gale's books. Such a sympathetic and clever writer. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope i will
DeleteOh Tom .... you beat me to it ....... I was also going to say get you, you trendy thing you !!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI may be a scruffbag but i have standards darling
DeleteYou're just a hipster really. Admit it.

DeleteOh gosh! Surely you mean bottom.
DeleteOOO ERRRR John... There is no question polite enough to ask now.
DeleteGo you! good idea x
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rainy day, stay warm and soak in the essence of it all.
ReplyDeleteIm sat by the river and itsgetting dark but itsnot cold
DeleteMay some smiles and kindness come your way today. Hugs for Mary.
ReplyDeleteMoon River is beautiful, as is Stacey and Kevin's Waltz. Only Glen Campbell's Wichita Lineman tops it for me.
ReplyDeleteI hope your mobile lampshades are healing nicely.
Shes brighter today thank you
DeleteYou're having a tough time, be more gentle with yourself. Going Gently is sometimes the best way.
ReplyDeleteLove Moon River, that was a lovely clip to watch on so poignant a day. We are not long back from the Cenotaph at Llandudno, the sun shone on the service and then rain came in later, it's been a moving morning all round.
Winnie mary and i went to the memorial service outside the hall at 2.30...
DeleteSorry about Moon River! Hope the day has been pleasant.
ReplyDeleteBetter old bean betterxx
DeleteYou brought "Man In An Orange Shirt" to my attention and although I had to wait nearly a year here in the States to see it, it was well worth the wait. What a story! What performances! It remains on my recorded list. Wish I were there to hear what Gale had to say. Hope you share. Don't know what a "flat white" is, but it appears you are going to have a marvelous day.
ReplyDeleteYes it was a powerful film was it not? Im walking around chester now waiting to go to the theatre
DeleteI used to look at your relationship as my ultimate goal, unfortunately life takes bad turns, I feel for you John, sadly you have entered my world, a place I wish you didn't have to be in.
ReplyDeleteWell i was an object of admiration once...hey ho
DeleteYou still are John. xxx
DeleteI like Patrick Gayles's books too John. Wish to could come with you.
ReplyDeleteIt would have brrn my pleasure
DeleteIm a mad bitch
ReplyDeleteSending you love and my sincere hope that today has been better for you.
ReplyDeleteHope your outing was as you planned. I hope Mary is still on the up, and I wish you a fantastic week to come. XX
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
"Moon River" brings tears to my eyes for it was my Mother's favorite song. She especially loved the version sung by Andy Williams. I am sorry this lovely song now makes you sad as well. I hope Mary is feeling better and the stitches are staying where they belong. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Moon River. What a perfect song and melody. The only one I ever learned to play in my dulcimer.
ReplyDeleteMay your sadness fade away.
I've always loved it and used it for my wedding but the movie......eh......I did not love it. I love Aubrey...who doesn't...but not the movie.
ReplyDeleteI've not been watching Strictly this year but am hugely impressed by what I have seen of Stacey Dooley, she reminds of an old fashioned Hollywood musical star when she dances.
