I want an asthmatic pug dog called Roger
I want to be able to dance

I want to go to New York on the Queen Mary
I want a pristine green front lawn
I want an official Walking Dead Trendy sports top
I want a tortoise
I want a 34 inch waist
I want a continual collection of pencils

What do you want?

  1. I want an end to homelessness and the horrors that Yemen is experiencing. I want Donald Trump to drop down dead tomorrow and Mike Pence to drop down dead on Wednesday. I want a fresh referendum to destroy the Brexit madness. I want Hull City AFC to have new owners with ambition and a big bag of money.

  4. I've learned that there are two things everyone wants: Everyone wants to be happy, and everyone wants to be loved. You can live with one or the other. Lucky are those who have both.

I would like another chance to speak and spend time with loved ones who've passed on. And to be alive for as long as I can, to do the things that make me happy and spend time with the people I care for and love. It's not so much as live longer but live fully and freely and love whole heartedly and passionately.

    Regarding your list:

I also want world peace...and harsher penalties for parole violators.

If you can move, you can dance...just go with the music and if you want, find someone who can teach you the formal dances. Otherwise, just let go and enjoy...

You can get that pristine front lawn--you all ready have access to good fertilizer. Now you just got to find the time for the work.

Forget the tortoise. Turtles are much more delicious.

I want you to be happy, healthy, and living life heartily. Same for the pets and critters in your care.

    1. Everyone wants to be happy, and everyone wants to be loved AMEN to that.

I want a family. There is no-one here except an abusive spouse.
I want a safe place to fall.
I want financial security so I can leave and live the rest of my life in peace.

I want to be able to say things without creating an obviously fake account in order to hide behind a veil of anonymity.

And I want to get hold of anyone who inflicts any form of cruelty on any animal, and hang them up by their most painful body part until they expire in agony.

  5. I want happiness for myself and my family, and you too! It would also be nice if we had a deluge of rain to put out these awful forest fires...second year that they have been scary close and the smoke is hard to handle. That is pretty much it for me. I would come and be a sassy housekeeper...I am pretty good at it, and I make quilts...so two birds :-)

I want to know that all of my iron skillets and pots will be used by someone who cherishes them. I want to die the same exact moment as my husband. I want to know that I have made a difference. And I want this beautiful planet to continue to breathe through its forest lungs and cleanse itself through its oceans for ever and ever. Humans' presence not necessarily part of that.

  76. I want a porch
I want an eat in kitchen
I want to live by live water (a creek or a river but a lake would do in a pinch)
I want Trump and his minions in jail
I want all the guns that aren't used to hunt for food gone
I want compassion to be highly prized
    I want religion gone
I want people to be treated by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin
I want world peace (never gonna happen)

    you know, just the usual

  77. Kate Staller's comment made me laugh: "Be careful what you wish for John we know where you live."

I can see it now, crates of pugs with breathing problems being sent to your post by your adoring readership. So many cruise tickets SO to NY on Queen Mary you can go back to back several times.

At least three American roll top baths being delivered - if you don't have the space you can always make it a tourist attraction at, no not at Haddocks - that' Cro ..., the Ukranian Village. A builder will be rolling up to install a porch. What's with the lawn? I didn't think you were into the overly manicured.

I am totally with you on Brexit. Can't wait to be deported any time after next March - having lived most my adult life here. After all, what's it to "them" to upturn lives? I shall wave to Cro as we cross the channel in opposite directions.

My own contribution to your wanted list will be "a continual collection of pencils". How intriguing. Never thought of you that way. Do you care to explain?

And please do remember the little childhood ditty: "Row row row the boat, gently down the stream, merrily merrily merrily, life is but a dream."

    U

  79. My wants are selfish and few. I want to be able to take long baths again without needing hunky firemen to pull me out of the tub. I want to be able to get up off of the floor without assistance after sliding there from my bed. Hmm, seems to be a theme there.
I want to be able to cut and paint my own toenails and lotion my own crusty feet.
Not having to give myself shots would be nice.
I want you, John, to have a pug, just don't name him Roger :)
World peace would be good, but that would probably take more work.

I hope you don't mind, I have borrowed your idea for a blog post myself.

I want everyone to have enough so no one is hungry, frightened, worried, homeless, or dealing to too little of any needed thing.

I want all politicians to care and act to benefit the PEOPLE they represent and the planet (think Mr. Smith Goes to Washington). Greed should be illegal and kindness encouraged. The pristine, wild places will be left undeveloped and strip mining and fracking MUST be stopped immediately.

On a personal note: I want to have the energy to make most, if not all, of my fabric stash into quilts. If there is some fabric left after I'm gone I want it to go to good homes. I'd really like it if the quilts I've made are cherished forever, too.:)

May all your wants and wishes come true.

  87. Many, 30+ yeas ago, when I was a student nurse my tutor said, 'no patient should be in pain'; idealistic but times and pain-relief have moved on.
I want: no-one to be in pain of any kind: illness, grief, dying.
I want: fairness in money in the world be it equal pay, a decent living wage, a better taxation system to stop the better off and huge corporations dodging paying their share.
I want: food for all, shelter and clean drinking water.
I want: all on planet earth to realise we are a speck in the universe and it's time we all tried to live harmoniously together.
I want: to remain happy and healthy and my family and friends also.
I want: to outlive my pets as I don't want to leave them behind (even though they'd be well-cared for on my demise).
I want: no more rubbish and endless repeats (especially at Christmas) on the wretched BBC when I pay for a TV licence!

  88. I want. . .
To sell my home buy a big pieces of land with small home for me, for all the unloved animals that need help.
A truck for no cost neutering of dog and cats in high rick areas.
The government to get off their ass and start taking care of the Citizens of the U.S. Veterans, Elderly, Homeless, Police, Firemen, Teachers.
Plus Jerry Brown and his band of liberal know it all to be unseated in the next election. But it won't help as California is already destroyed.

    cheers, parsnip and badger

  89. I want to have been given the right to vote on Brexit but I (and about 800,000 other Brits) was denied that right. I live in France so I am "slightly concerned" here. But que sera! In any case I have everything I need and most of what I want so I wish everyone could have the same. Especially those poor people in warzones who can't even protect their children from the whims of dictators.

  90. In no particular order:
I want kindness and civility to be in vogue again.
I want modern day ugliness and histrionics over all things political, which is soul-draining, to fade away.
I want to be able to eat chocolate cake without guilt or weight gain.
I want my sons to feel good about themselves and their lives.
I want grandchildren someday... be it biological or adopted.
I want those who are heartbroken at this moment in time to find joy again.
