Coincidence !
Yesterday we went Christmas shopping and as we passed a local art gallery in Llandudno I suggested we go in and look at the exhibits
After a while The Prof pointed out an original picture that he liked and I was gobsmacked as I remembered falling in love with it when seeing the same print in Theatre Clwyd earlier in the year.
The tiny Church reminded me of our village church and the style of the piece gave me a nostalgic 1930 sort of feeling!
He bought it on the spot
It's going in our new kitchen ........

Very nice, and appropriate for this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and I'm loving the tile!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. It's got a dog in it.
ReplyDeleteSerendipity at its best. You were meant to have that stunner.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so pretty. Glad you found it again.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike and sometimes, little magical coincidences happen.
ReplyDeleteI would have been drawn to that picture as well.
Makes me smile, too.
ReplyDeleteOh I like it too ! Quite a lot :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteIt will be perfect in the December 2017 kitchen makeover!
I like it ver' much.
ReplyDeleteI have friend who would love that picture. She into blue willow dishes
ReplyDeleteIt was meant to be. Can't wait to see it up in the 'new' kitchen!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! And clearly meant to be yours.
ReplyDeleteI recognise it; who's it by?
ReplyDeleteThe artist is Callie Jones
DeleteAh, not who I was thinking of.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to agree on a painting! Is it by a local artist?
ReplyDeleteIt's like something from a childhood story .... Could be the cover of an Enid Blyton book ...absolutely love it
ReplyDeleteI love that picture. I read your blog every day and on Saturday was patiently waiting for my husband to come back to the car which was parked outside Debenhams in Llandudno. I looked up and saw you and the Prof walk past. I was just about to get out of the car and come and say hello when it suddenly struck me that I don’t really know you and you certainly don’t know me, so I stayed where I was! I am pretty sure I would recognise Winnie in a line-up too! It was quite an odd feeling. Jax
ReplyDeleteJa,
DeleteHow lovely, you should have said hello...I would have loved that
The Prof however would have just lifted an eyebrow!
I thought it might be intrusive but if it happens again, then I will! My husband would think I was a loon accosting strangers in the street. How do you explain that to me you are not a stranger and Winnie, in particular, is like family! Deprived dog lover here! Jax
DeleteThat's the perfect gift for your new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteIt was waiting for you to bring it home. I love the story tale look of it, as if there are layers of stories within it's frame.
ReplyDeleteIt's got the feel of a linocut.
ReplyDeleteThat's what it is
DeleteSo nice when tastes align.
ReplyDeleteI echo the comments above.
ReplyDeleteI like that little scene. It would also make a good card.
ReplyDeleteLovely church scene...
ReplyDeleteIt's as if the artist has been to your village, the house- the church- the walls and dog!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was meant to be there.
ReplyDeletePerfect x
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic that you both liked the same picture independently, and then bought it. Magic moments.
ReplyDeleteexcellent. always happy when someone buys a piece of art.
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture. I really like your tiles too.
ReplyDeleteThis one was meant for your cottage, clearly!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great scene! At first I thought it was painted on tile and now I want a tile with that image!
ReplyDeleteIt's charming.
ReplyDeleteArilx
Absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you both were in agreement on this....makes life (and the kitchen) SO much better!!
ReplyDeleteA nice finishing touch for the new kitchen.
