Apart from raising a Roger Moore eyebrow, the Prof nearly said " dozy" when I told him about the floor.
" It could be a lot worse!" He then muttered
Just behind him George walked across the living room with cream paint all up his arse where he had sat against the skirting board
Hey ho...
( helping out at the village Christmas do later...I will post photos this afternoon)
Dosey? Does that = dozy or dopey? Never mind, we get the picture. But I wanna see George showing off his cream-coloured hind quarters.
ReplyDeleteI see you've slightly edited your original posting, rendering my comment above as curious or pointless, to say the least. Oh well. Heigh-ho!
DeleteOur late Toby stepped into the paint tray. Of course we yelled at him, which caused him to bolt, leaving a trail of paint down the hallway floor.
ReplyDeleteAlways wait till the Prof has visited the pub before delivering bad news....genius!
ReplyDeleteglad you changed the spelling, it was worrying me. Hope you get the floor done before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief! I expected The Prof to go into a furious and uncontrollable rage when he heard about the error with the flooring. By the sound of it, I think you might have got away with your dimness.
ReplyDeleteIt will all work out and you will be a happy man next week. Renovations seldom go easy; it is all an adventure.
ReplyDeleteWorse things happen on Grand Designs. And probably with my daughter's dress making.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason , I cannot imagine the Prof going into an uncontrollable rage about anything ..
ReplyDeleteWith all the home renovations we lived through, such mistakes were made .. the people who are working for you are used to it ..
Keep your mind on the Finished Product and don't think about anything else..
Now if you can get George to move to an unpainted section and run his fanny up against the skirting board - you will have help painting.
ReplyDeleteI like Travel's idea ... put George to work!
ReplyDeleteI always smile when I see paw prints set in concrete x
ReplyDeleteMe too Penny!
DeleteNot dozy. Spatially challenged. Able to take care of people at a moments notice, but spatially challenged.
ReplyDeleteAre you like a bad carpenter, cut twice and measure once? Leaders from around the world had a meeting and all agreed that you can be forgiven for your mistake.
ReplyDeleteThe Prof will have his turn at being Dozy (dopey) and then you can refrain from comment (or eyebrows) and come out the bigger man. I've been making goofy mistakes ALL WEEK.....I'm blaming it on the Super Moon. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

ReplyDeleteBut did he say it affectionately?? Never mind. His turn will come someday.
ReplyDeleteI like Travel's idea - and it might be the only help you get, so best take it!
http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/dozy "Lethargic and lazy" Unfair! You are NOT either. This was outside your skill set, and you've done a great job.
ReplyDeleteTotally off topic but that Super moon is incredible here tonight.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you. In an attempt to wrest back control of my own house's renovations from my bgff and designer Ross, I bought a vanity unit cheap. He went mad at me because ut was on these stupid little legs that meant they couldn't lay the lino around it and under it in one piece. It never occurred to me. The extra faffing it took well and truly rendered its price a non-bargain. and I lost the round (we are at war constantly, in a most congenial way however)
