Today I have posted the village Christmas Cards. It was cold and according to my Fitbit, I've covered 6.2 miles but now the job is done.
I am now looking at sending Going Gently readers a special Christmas card but cannot quite decide on how it will look like.
I am now looking at sending Going Gently readers a special Christmas card but cannot quite decide on how it will look like.
Should it be deadpan bulldog festive?
A Welsh terrier card?
A bit of a gay card?
New York snow globe card ?
A Turkey lurve card?
A Slightly rude insult card?
A Christmas video perhaps?
Take your pick....the message is exactly the same
To Everyone who takes the time and effort
To pop in here to read this drivel
I wish you all a very peaceful and HappyChristmas
I absolutely love this !!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and the Prof !
lots of love from C and the cats
Despite the both of you knowing how to shake a leg or three (how long did you have to rehearse to get it right?), my vote is for the Ever-winning Winnie. I can't bear to think of her sulking if she feels unwanted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to be the first to wish you, the Prof and ALL the 'kiddies' (of both four and two legs) a wonderful Christmas plus a 2018 simply BUUUURRRRRRRSSSSting with good health. (I think we may well have further opportunities to wish the like again.)
Well, so I'm second.
DeleteWahahahahahah each one is perfect !
ReplyDeleteMy pick is Winnie !
Your card is taking the usual 7 to 10 days.
cheers, parsnip and mandibles
Is that bulldog Winnie? If so did you use a hammer to drive those smiling snowmen into her head?
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Winnie !
DeleteI like them all. Merry Christmas, dear man, and thank you for the joy you bring us each day.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Santa was gay. Mind you, I've never seen any sign of Mrs Claus, so maybe....
ReplyDeleteI rather like the Welsh terrier card myself. But then, I'm rather partial to Welsh terriers.
You have excellent taste Nicolas
DeleteA merry Christmas to you and yours and indeed, all the reader's of your blog.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more tales from Trelawnd next year.
Thank you for your sterling work this year. Long may you continue your literary ramblings!
Who in their right mind could resist that bulldog.
ReplyDeleteSo, instead, you give us ALL THE CARDS! So generous! Thank you for the dancing elf card... has the Prof seen it?
ReplyDeleteYes.....he raised his Roger Moore eyebrow at least four inches
DeleteSomething for everyone! LOL! I love deadpan Winnie.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very Merry Christmas to you John and to your beloved Prof and all your four-legged children and to the whole village. And please, when you see Auntie Glad give her a special hug and Kiss for me.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas indeed. Winnie wins for me. :)
ReplyDeleteDespite me serving goose, as one does, the Turkey Lurve card is by far my favourite. It's brilliant. The setting, the turkey (still) alive, the way your heads are turned towards each other, your quizzical if benign smile. If you had employed a stylist and Annie Leibovitz to take the shot it couldn't have been more perfect. That expression is so you, John. Lovely, lovely, lovely. If I were the Prof I'd not only fall in love with you all over again but carry that photo in my wallet to remind me in times of doubt what I ever saw in you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, hisses and happy advent greetings,
U
Boris died of old age a couple of years ago
DeleteYes, I can tell you can take gushing and sincerely meant compliments graciously and without blushing.
DeleteRIP, Boris. One of our wider family's dogs, a beauty, was called Boris. He was as regal as your turkey. Only more dog.

DeleteAnd a Happy Christmas to you and Chris, and your thundering herd of pets.
ReplyDeleteThose 6.2 miles must have been the highlight of your 2017's walks John - cold and a bit slippery perhaps, but full of fresh air and joyful thoughts of Christmas ahead. I do hope your villagers appreciate you doing that for them - and I'd love to see you popping one in my mailbox rather than my regular mailman! So, my favorite has to be your sweet terrier with Santa toy - but Winnie is a close second!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy, warm and joyous Christmas with the Prof and 'kids'.
I fell over twice
DeleteNo sign of Albert, then. What a wise cat.I like the video best. Clever, and such a perfect routine !
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Elf Yourself BUT with the doggie faces as the second and third elves.
ReplyDeleteI love the one of Winnie or the one with the Welsh terrier or you and the turkey. Can't make up my mind.
ReplyDeleteThank you John, much peace and happiness to you and the Prof and to all your loving pets!
Greetings Maria xx
Merry Christmas tinsel tits!
ReplyDeleteLove them all. Hope you, the Prof, and each of your furry friends have a very merry Christmas. And enjoy that new kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThanks John for sharing your stories day in and day out. Your blog is a pleasure to read and so are the comments. Merry Christmas to you and the Prof and the gang. I vote for Winnie but the turkey one was a very close second. All the best from a snowy Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the dogs. May all your days be Merry and Bright.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteLove all the cards! Merry Christmas to you both xx
ReplyDeleteA very merry Christmas to you. (I rather like the New York snow globe...)
ReplyDeleteIt's my best photo
DeleteTwo favourites: the adorable Winnie (I love that lass), she has an air of superiority whilst being a bit of a flirt; and the Boris turkey one - he had a happy life. Happy Christmas everyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks John! Happy Christmas to you and yours too. I'll accept the turkey lurve card thanks very much. :)
ReplyDeleteNo favourite. They are all part of you. Merry Christmas John and the gang.
ReplyDeleteOh the turkey one for me please. I want a turkey for Christmas ... there's room in the henhouse :-)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do like you, the prof and your funny friend dancing :-)
Have you an incubator sue? I bought fertilised turkey eggs from eBay and hatched my own
DeleteNo I want a fully grown one that was destined for the table. I'm in rescue mode :-)
DeleteWinnie wins, bless her, but they're all good. I'd love to see you and the Prof. do the elf dance for real...!
ReplyDeleteThe video at the end was a cherry on a very nice sundae. Merry Christmas to you and all of your animals plus the Prof!!
ReplyDeleteMany Happy Returns to You Both - Nollaig shona !
ReplyDeleteNadolig llawen
DeleteWould love to see one of you, the prof. and the entire menagerie!! I do like the Winnie picture thou
ReplyDeleteThough!
DeleteA merry Christmas to you too John.

I'll take the "tinsel tits"! Merry Christmas to you and the Prof.! Now, what Christmassy thing is cooking in your new kitchen?
ReplyDeleteSomething for everyone there John. Merry Christmas cooking in your new kitchen xx
ReplyDeleteYou two are perfect ... and so is your other elf friend. I can't believe you got the Prof to do the dance. And he's so good!
ReplyDeleteA very Merry Christmas to you John and your Prof and to all of your four legged children and to the whole village of Trelawnyd. Please give Auntie Glad a Christmas hug and kiss from across the pond!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabtabulous Crimble! Love the video, you have such shapely legs-clearly born to dance hehehe x
ReplyDeleteI was going to vote for the gay card, of course, until I saw TURKEY LURVE!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you between now and Christmas..it's only the 12th.
ReplyDeleteBut Happy Christmas just in case you're not back tomorrow
I took the last one and I'm glad I did. Merry Christmas to you and your family, John. xo
ReplyDeleteAnd to you and Chris, John, all the best this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBest to you jimbo and old ronaldo
DeleteI love the dancing elves. I did one a couple of years ago with my husband and me. No one could stop laughing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your posts all year. Merry Christmas to you, the Prof and all your furry family!
Thank you June x
DeleteLove them all...even tinsel tits made me laugh out loud. But I do think that arty farty NY snow globe photo is so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI took the photo a f years ago and have always loved it
DeleteI like the welsh terrier card.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember Finlay when he was alive
DeleteOh, so hard to choose..puppies, turkeys, elves and a bit of smut. I think I'd have to go turkey, if pushed. Hope you and yours all have a happy, stress-free Yuletide xx
ReplyDeleteAnd, happy holidays to you, too!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
The Tinsel Tits is pretty offensive, the rest are cute. Happy holidays to you and Prof. May your new year be wonderful. Happy, healthy, etc.
ReplyDeletelizzy
Oh I liked it......it suits my humour xxx
DeleteOh well that makes it okay then.
DeleteYou know I'm not sexist so it's fun xx
DeleteI love all your cards but the NY snow globe is the one I like the best! Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteI wish I kept some of the Christmas cards I made from the photo...I think it was my best
DeleteThe snowglobe is nice, but a little impersonal. I think I like the tacky entertainment of the dancing elf video best. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteImpersonal? It was my favourite purchase from New York many moons ago
DeleteThink I used to go out with Dancing Elf in the middle !! Met him in Tiffanys in Chester !!
ReplyDeleteHe must have been gay
DeleteThat's why he did not sleep with me !!!
DeleteBack at you. All the best to you and yours. Winnie gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteI like the Welsh Terrier one. Actually the photo of you delivering cards down the lane is actually a sweet one.
ReplyDeleteThat was Finlay he was a delightful dog and my first terrier
DeleteWhat a fun pack of cards John I love the video and the Turkey one because I know the Turkey is lucky and not going to be someones dinner.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and the prof and menagerie joy and laughter this Christmas.
Thank you darling x
DeleteTinsel Tits made me snort my tea. I wouldn't want to receive it but it did make me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, a slice of life in your little Welsh world !
ReplyDeleteWishing you and the Prof, a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Thank you for brightening my days over the years :)
Hugs,
~Jo
A very merry Christmas to you and the Prof and the whole menagerie, from a faithful lurker. You brighten my days also!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, the prof, and all the lovely pets.
ReplyDeleteThey are all good, but the Welsh terrier has stolen my heart. An early Merry Christmas to you, the Prof, and the household. May your days be merry and bright.
ReplyDeleteHe stole my heart too jenny
DeleteOh I'd choose the gorgeous Winnie, although tinsel tits comes a close second.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and the prof a very jolly holly Christmas and a healthy and happy new year. I look forward to a whole new year of your daily posts.
WONDERFUL!!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family (human and animal). Cameron's photo's were great by the way ... love the one of Irene.

I love them all but I must admit being partial to Winnie's card! A Merry Christmas to you, Chris and all your furry and feathery children!
ReplyDeleteFestive Bulldog is a winner.
