The cottage is crammed nose to nipple with flatbacks
We went out to Liverpool in order to get away from the clutter.
Walking into John Lewis' Kitchen Department, was like tiptoeing into a piece of heaven for me, and I walked round running my fingers over gleaming measuring jugs, shiny pans and oh-be-still-my-beating-heart a garlic press in the shape of a lobster to die for!
My new kitchen reality is palpable!
The Prof bought me a new rolling pin just to get me to shut the fuck up ( he guessed quite rightly that it will match the new counter tops)
"Excuse me sir, we have a no slavering policy in our kitchenware department!"
ReplyDeleteI didn't droll but I did have an erection
DeleteOMG
DeleteToo much information Mr Humphries!
DeleteI would have paid good money to see that!
DeleteA dime?
DeleteIs that a rolling-pin under your pinny...
DeleteI feel the same way when I see closet organizers and other storage solutions. Enjoy your new rolling pin - pastry in the foreseeable future? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI feel an apple pie comming on I bought a pie blackbird in New York
DeleteI actually know what that is.
DeleteI have an antique pie bird on my kitchen sill. I'd be afraid to stick it in a pie, a hundred years later. I just love its glory.
Deletepix of pie bird, please; and yes, I too know what that is!
DeleteI always wanted my grandmothers but it was lost when she died.....use it Joanne that's what it was made for
DeleteBut John, I haven't cooked for 40 years. And the pie bird is ecstatic.
DeleteCook woman ! How old are you?
DeleteI have my mothers' blackbird but we make apple crumble !
DeleteFabulous! Our "new IKEA kitchen" is about five years old now and love it just as much. A kitchen remodel calls for many cocktails at the end of the workday.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your reveal. :)
How encouraging
DeleteSuch fun !
ReplyDeleteI look and dream also but I do not buy anything.
Really do not need anything but looking is so much fun.
cheers, parsnip
watch out or the prof will use the rolling pin on your head!
ReplyDeleteRevel in your porn.
ReplyDeleteI remember Laura when we were furnishing her kitchen. "Can I really have that!" As much fun for me as for her.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteNor can I
DeleteI lust for a new kitchen,
ReplyDeleteI've lusted for 30 years
Delete@penguin - does sweet bear know about this "other lust" of yours?
DeleteWe all need a pipe dream AM
Delete"On time" is a wonderful thing. So is a garlic press in the shape of a lobster! Glad things are progressing for you.
ReplyDeleteWe have regular trips to Ikea Bristol to choose our 'dream kitchen'. Have been doing it for years now. One day soon maybe. Glad your dream kitchen is becoming a reality.
ReplyDeleteI have made it so........like Jean luc Picard's crew
DeleteSomeone is going to get killed with that rolling pin.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be me
DeleteOh yes it will
DeleteThanks chuck
DeleteAhhhhh, kitchen porn. I can relate. Here I have Bed Bath and Beyond and Pier One nearly side by side. But I only get to look.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I understood that
Delete@john - bed bath & beyond is a home furnishings store; so is pier one. we also have crate & barrel and ikea for home items.
DeleteI do NOT cook, but I do get really turned on by cool kitchens and cool kitchen gadgets.
ReplyDeleteA good food processor can make me moist
ReplyDeleteAn fast egg whisk makes me more than moist
DeleteBest line of the night
DeletePersonally I don't think it's a touch on your erection line xx
DeleteMe neither but I was being kind x
DeleteAnd I spent the afternoon with my daughter in IKEA today:)
ReplyDeleteShe is furnishing a new home..I get to be advisor and puppy holder-a fun day.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one into kitchen porn. You know you have a kitchen porn issue when one has 6 sets of measuring spoons and about 9 different glass measure cups and a selection of cutting boards for sweet and savory....labeled.
ReplyDeleteNot that I would do this mind you.
I have kitchen envy.
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest a full set of Rick Stein Cookery Books to go with it all!
ReplyDeleteDear John - thank you for starting my Sunday morning off with a good laugh.May I just warn you that a garlic press might be a delight to look at but it is a b***** to wash up.
ReplyDeleteJohn Lewis kitchen section is definitely something special. I can wander around there or Dunelm for ages. Used to do the same sort of thing in big electrical stores, but not so much now. How the mighty fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm soon to move into a whole new cottage with a new kitchen. But Grant chose it all (while I was at work) so it's left me stone cold...
ReplyDeleteI visited Ikea earlier this week. I haven’t been there in 20+ years. It is a fascinating place and the kitchens were beautiful. I hope that the finished work will be all that you dreamed.
ReplyDeleteI think buying from the kitchen department will make me a better cook. I'm always wrong.
ReplyDeleteYour posts always have the most interesting comments in the blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely charm the heck out of me.
