Community Spirit

The Trelawnyd Volunteer Corps

And the junior division

The affable despot Jason brought his chain saw

In just one hour sixteen of us more or less cleared the village green

A big thank you to all that helped out, a job well done, the lavender bordered path looks especially good

The Prof, Wendy and the little boy no one knew clearing the flower beds

  7. It's nice to not see a petrol leaf-blower in use. Autumns used to be so peaceful when rakes were the only tools.

  14. Well done to all the Trelawnydders who responded to the call for action. These days it is too easy to shut one's door or close the curtains, forgetting that we live in communities.

    4. It's sad but when we took our group photo he disappeared so when the Prof spied him , he asked if he wanted his photo taken with the other young volunteers. I was reminded we should have had permission to do so after I took it. I hope it's ok inthis world of being careful

  20. I hope you find out who "the boy no one knew" is! Great job. Many hands make light work.

You are looking might trim in that picture, John - great job there too!

  21. Many hands make light work. One hour thats fantastic and cake. Well I hope all your volunteers know they are being cheered on from around the world through your blog. The next thing I think you should suggest is that they each take on an apprentice to train up to do that one hour that could go viral. Well done all.

    1. That's sweet of u.
I think more people will come next time . We aim to weed all of the flower beds, jet wash the seating area and sort out the flower beds near the church. I would like to organise planters too

  23. Many Hands do make light work - and cake makes it even lighter! Well done, all of you. A community spirit you can all be proud of.

  24. It's good that there's a bunch of people willing to help maintain the village green. It's sad when a green space like that is neglected and turns into an overgrown rubbish-strewn mess.

  25. Looks great! I love that some random little boy showed up and no one knows who he is!

  26. Great, really great “community” effort . . .
    Cheers for each of you!

  27. Brilliant community effort. Aww .. 'the little boy that no one knew' sounds so forlorn. What a good kid he is though.

We've done our own community thing here over the last few weeks and raised enough money for a defibrillator to be held in the local hotel. £1,500 raised in a community of just 227 people, can't be bad :-)
