"Do you flour your finger Paul?"

Tuesday nights are Bake Off nights.
Pru Leith , the lady who had the unenvious job of filling Mary Berry's sensible shoes , seems, in my mind to be doing rather nicely indeed .
Unlike Mary, Pru has a somewhat naughty twinkle in her eye and tonight when Paul droned on about how to make a cottage loaf by sliding a finger between the two bits of dough she playfully dropped in
a comment of " missing the finger treatment" at a sunken entry.
I bet she was a right naughty cougar in her time!
The  contestants, as usual are a sweet bunch. Steven and Tom are fighting for top gay pin up status whilst  stunt woman Sophie and the Russian Julia are the dark horse bakers. Stacey cries easily and Liam, Flo and Yan are the comics.
Perhaps baking brings the best out in people!
Good job I bake well!

  3. The new Bake Off has been a sober affair in our household. Mary used to be such a saucy, smutty minx and responsible for many a riproaring, drunken evening, when we indulged in the 'Great British Bake Off Drinking Game'.Anything that could be construed as innuendo eg 'your going to have to go in from the rear, Paul', 'it's a bit tight in the bottom', 'standing stiffly upright' was the cue to clink glasses and down in one. The new bake off has so far, been devoid of any double entendres, until tonight! At the mention of Paul's floury finger, out came the single malt. From round buns to the phallic snail, Bake Off is back on form. Paul being speechless and wiping tears from his eyes was worth a triple. Happy days! :-)

  7. It's brilliant. I thought I was just checking it out when I watched the first episode ... but it had me hook, line and sinker in the first five minutes 😊

  10. Some folk who live in Bakewell bake well. Bakewell tarts and Bakewell puddings are their specialties.

  11. I'll miss the 2 hosts; I thought they added some nice personal chemistry. Who's the young guy with the nice hair?

  12. I love that show. I really liked Mary and thought she and Paul were sort of sweet on each other. I haven't seen any of the new shows. I am glad you think it is good. It makes me anxious to watch.

It's good they didn't ruin Bake-Off's capacity for 'innuendo bingo'.

  15. We watched the first on catch up to skip the ads. I like Pru & think Sandy & Noel haven't settled into their roles yet.
Sometimes if I'm with my daughter in her car we listen to Innuendo Bingo on Radio One - there are usually clips from Bake Off on it.

  16. Baking? What's that? My tins have been packed for so long that I have forgotten. Shall either have to relearn the art or lay off it for good - the latter is probably the best option if I consider my waistline.

  17. I was pleased to feel that it hadn't changed at all right from the first one. We video to cut the ads though. I think Pru has stepped into Mary's shoes admirably. It's just as enjoyable as ever and I think they did the right thing to keep it as unchanged as possible.

  18. We watched the first episode of this season but we haven't kept up since then. I think the show really lost something with the absence of Mel and Sue. I like Pru -- if she had stepped in and Mel and Sue had stayed, I'd be much more enthusiastic.

Oh. I'm in mourning. Well I will be as soon as I find my black veil. I won't watch any more. I caught the show on PBS. Thanks for the sad news.

Thank goodness for Google. Now I understand. *sigh*
