Three Words

Theresa May spoke for all of us today when she said calmly and with obvious resolve

" Enough Is Enough"

  1. I really want to believe her but I'm slowly becoming panic-stricken, as is almost everyone I know, especially the young 'uns who understand nothing about politics. Feels like living in some pre-apocalyptic nightmare.

  2. What continues to amaze me is the blind attitude of those who claim responsibility. Do they believe that the world will get scared? If the world didn't get scared of the ones who didn't have to send children to kill, (the eleven year old who will live in my memory forever inside that car crying, saying he didn't want to go) all the world is doing is to turn their so called religion into a synonym for madness, hatred and cowards, who hide behind frustrated and misguided young men to actually destroy the forgiveness people may be willing to extend to other Muslims. When ignorance is the fluid of religion the results are death, not faith, not service, not truth or belief. Just death. They are nothing else but the messengers of death, they could mention any name just like they use Alah to serve their purpose. It is hatred not religion that moves them. Nothing else. My heart goes to the families, and to the rest of England. You will survive, and once again, you will show how to do it.

That was my thought. In the blitz bombs rained from the sky but people went on with their lives. Context is a dreadful thing because it is unemotional and unrelenting but put in context the horrors of the recent past don't compare with what some have dealt with in their lives. The sad thing is that we thought that these things were slowly being put behind us, that we could live our lives in peace, that is what is horrible.

  6. I can't see how anything will deter these people, if they are willing to die for their "cause" no threat of punishment can be strong enough. I just hope if they get to their special afterlife, that their "virgins" are all 80 year old men. Apologies if this seems flippant,it's my way of dealing with the crap that is happening x

  7. But what on earth does that mean - enough is enough? How does she plan to stop these totally unpredictable attacks? Yes, the barbaric ideology they're based on has to be destroyed, but that's going to be a long haul, and in the meantime - more random attacks.

  11. I have no advise to give. I really don't think there is any except "keep your head", "dont' let prejudices influence future", etc.
The forces behind it are clearly trying to influence your actions. Don't fall for it, the hyper-defense, 'nobody that were not born here', etc.
It's what they want, and what will work.
It ain't easy, and it won't be short. But it's the world we've built. ISIS did not come out of nowhere, nor did the Taliban. Or Black September, or German or US radical groups.
None of this will be 'solved' until we remedy the society that creates the issue.

  14. Sadly, this seems to be our new world.
We never used to look at airplanes flying low and have a moments thought in a day when no one thought it was a bad thing, a horrible thing, a thing that would change our world forever ..
We never used to look at people and wonder if they will suddenly go berserk and start stabbing people .. but we can plan.. You plan where you are going , what you will be doing and is it a good idea, is the place a good idea ... that sort of thing. You just can't feel as at ease as you always have .. These animals took that away from us. They have changed our worlds in so many small and large ways ..
I cannot imagine being an ordinary family who follows the Muslim faith ... their lives have changed, they can't be comfortable any more ... no one trusts them and most likely not many people like them.. they will be hated and uncomfortable through no fault of their own, but there you have it ...
Muslim means bad things happen.Muslim means Hate.
And this is what they have done to themselves .. what happens now is all their fault.
I just feel sorry for the children .. as always . Children are so innocent until twisted adults minds mess up the children too.

  16. It's tough but when we are scared they win. I know it may sound cliche but it's what they want. The concert tonight was awesome and the strength of the English makes me proud of all of you. There is a video of some children skipping around in a circle with a policeman and it just warmed my heart.

    Ultimately, love trumps hate.

Not being scared is a whole other word. Feeling fear and going about your lives no matter what takes courage.

  17. It is a fearful world when we lose trust in our fellow man.
What I feel is different now even though it has been voiced as the 'war on terror' by a former PM in Australia is the intent of the terrorists to do harm regardless of who they hurt even their own countrymen, women & children ..all are a means to achieve their aim of fear and destabilization and to cripple the western world.
We have to be stronger, more attentive and when apprehended these terrorists have to be dealt with promptly in accordance with the gravity of the crime and all assets of theirs and their resident families be taken and proceeds given to victims families..enough of giving them the benifit of presumed ignorance- the families need to be even more vigilant of terrorism & religious extremism

  18. I truly hope Mrs May carries through with an iron resolve. I feel sorry for decent law abiding Muslims, their everyday lives must be unbearable.

  19. Too little, too late. Too much blood on 'our' own hands.

Islamofascists have been financed, and armed, by our governments, when it suited; then killed when it didn't. Isis have simply piggybacked on that perfidy, becoming poster boys for the vengeful, deranged, and zealous. Stir that lot in to an already heady mix of religious puritanism, theocracy etc. and.....Bang.

We're the stupidest species on the planet.

  21. Sad beyond words. Evil deeds. The PM needs to stop talking and actually put into practice some proper regulations to keep us all safe; easy to say I know, as I wouldn't want to be a Cabinet Minister. Amanda

  22. I continue to be horrified by the actions of these terrorists and my complete sympathy with Manchester and now London. I think I have to agree with a poster above - you can't prevent these attacks when the attackers are more than willing to give their lives in the attack. I mean, if you have 3000 people under a watch list - what does that mean, exactly? How many people does it take to "watch" 3000 potential terrorists? Can we prevent people from traveling to ISIS hotspots for training? Is that legal? *Whispers* "sometimes I wish for a "Minority Report" type situation...but of course, that can be rigged, also. Please disregard the asinine comments from DT; he is an absolute moron and continues to be a complete embarrassment to America.

  23. May was Home Secretary for six years and did nothing effective to reduce or control the terrorist threat. In fact she reduced the police force by 20,000. She now says she has increased armed police. These are not new police but taken from the existing police force. Armed police may now be necessary but not at the expense of reducing our unarmed police force which is the fundamental core of the UK method of policing. Community policing is also core and a source of intelligence and safety for ordinary people in our towns and cities. Their defined purpose is to protect the public and their property, prevent crime and fear of crime. Local 'Bobbies' on the beat who know their communities are essential for this whatever the politicians claim. And by the way one of my favourite restaurants in Borough market was the target of those knife wielding terrorists. I weep for my London but we are unbowed as was my mother in 1942.

  24. I'm sick of hearing Mays lies. She has stretched our police force to breaking point. The 'extra' bobbies she says are on the beat to reassure us are really our normal police men and women. All leave has been cancelled, overtime is compulsory and the police we have on duty are sick and tired of the cuts.

I hope and pray that the country see sense and votes for Corbyn on Thursday.
