Whilst a selected few intensive care nurses live it up in Marbella this weekend, grunts like me get the bum deal with shifts to cover the unit. I worked night shift last night and am due back for a twelve hour shift tomorrow daytime .
Hope my colleagues are enjoying their pina coladas!
Hope my colleagues are enjoying their pina coladas!
See ya round!
ReplyDeleteC'mon John. You would not have gone to Marbella regardless. The sad arse martyr wins all.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a boring shift with docile patients and whatever reasons for this and that, maybe you and no one else is meant to be there at this time.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention They will owe you big time for doing this.
That sucks. I'm sorry. Why didn't you get to go?
ReplyDeleteI guess the saying . . .
ReplyDelete"someone has to do it!"
has your name on it . . .
(and where and when will you go for your holiday!)
Thank you for being there to cover. May you have patients that give you blog-fodder
ReplyDeleteChin up and take your vitamins!
ReplyDeleteI thought you meant a real break X
ReplyDeleteLike Rachel, I thought you meant a voluntary break from blogging for a while. I have been pondering such a break myself. At least if I do so, it won't be due to twelve-hour shifts doing real work!
ReplyDeleteYou got the raw end of that deal.......but think of all the stories you can tell!
ReplyDeletePoor you. Try to keep the memory of your jaunts earlier in the year uppermost in your mind - that should carry you through.
ReplyDeleteYou know you wouldn't have enjoyed Marbella.
ReplyDeleteThey probably don't have scotch eggs in Marbella so you're not missing anything.
ReplyDeleteHope work goes smoothly
Make sure there are a few scotched eggs in the fridge and some sort of sweet to pick you up.
ReplyDeleteAlong with a good sleepy cuddle with the critters.
cheers, parsnip and thehamish
I've got some shifts going John if you want some more extra duties lol
ReplyDeleteAll that sun would ruin your pale Welsh skin ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou never know, they might have dreadful hangovers, dreadful weather and their luggage hasn't arrived yet.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it wouldn't be ethical to tell us a few tales from the ICU night shift?
ReplyDeleteI hope they bring you back some treats...
ReplyDeletemay you have quiet shifts.
ReplyDeleteI didnt
DeleteI'd wish something awful like shingles on them, but then you'd have to pull more shifts.
ReplyDeleteCheer up John, they probably all went down with Montezuma's Revenge on the first night !
