  2. Do people realise that she is going to be rude when they go there? I would have got up and walked out

  3. She is hysterically funny and I love her. The world needs more gutsy people like her.

    2. She'd be a great sidekick for Doc Martin.

(I messed up my previous comment - sorry!)

  7. that is the real internal monologue of all waitresses. just said out loud! lol like "really? A diet coke when you have just order a starter, main and dessert and 2 bread basket refills and you order diet! Ha ha delusional!" lmao how funny is she.

  8. I wonder...Is there a parallel restaurant you can visit where the waiting staff are ultra-polite? Now that would be REALLY novel.

  9. She is brilliant .....I've got a friend who speaks to people like that , it's so funny to observe him do it , but it can be a bit painful when you see his victims collapsing under the assault

  10. It's funny to watch but not so funny perhaps if you are a paying customer. If you know in advance that the novelty factor of the restaurant is rude waiting staff - and you are prepared for that - then that would be OK. Maybe it should be advertised as such; EAT HERE AND WE WILL HAVE YOUR BALLS FOR SUPPER!!!

    1. Balls for supper? What? Braised in a garlic sauce?

  11. ok, I have eaten there, and yes I knew upfront that the help was going to be "rude" (it's advertised as such in all the good chicago guidebooks). as a philly girl, this place is right up my alley; I gave the "rude" right back; they wanted to hire me.

my problem would be I could NOT make it thru a customer encounter without dropping the F bomb or using the word "shit" (both no-nos). so a no go.

if any of you readers get to chicago, go there for the entertainment. or just come to philly and I can throw you some shade for free, f bombs and all YO!

  12. Brilliant, she's truly the queen of sass :-)

And it's all good advertising for the chain since this clip went viral!!

  13. I wonder if she's married or has kids. It must be awfully hard to get "out of character" when she gets home! Always in a bad mood is a rough way to earn tips!!

  14. No way would I go there... I may use rough language and all, but my Mom would slap me silly if I ever talked to people like that... she passed on 25 years ago and would still rise up and slap me silly! (I know... it's what's expected... but...)

  16. Maybe we should organize one day, when we can all say what we think - instead of what we know we should say.

  18. I found it difficult to sit through the video...I guess I just wore out my 'masochistic eating experience' organ. After reading through the comments, I have to wonder if there is something wrong with me...or am I just in the minority who wants the perks of civility - even if I'm only paying for the kiddy menu?

    1. Asfar as I can work out , its a tradition for the waitresses here to be rude... Its a game with the customers x

    2. I also found it difficult to watch.. I hate being rude and in my job I wouldn't get hired again, doesn't stop me thinking from time to time "biatch" but I don't think I could say it... however, don't get me started on animal cruelty, cruelty to the elder population or employee rights... now I could get totally angsty over that lot!!!

    2. Yes, I saw the video followup TV interview...still not my idea of fun. Now trading insults and snappy one liners with friends and family is fine - but with strangers...not so much. However, I guess the patrons know what they're in for in this place! Must be a Chicago thing. ;)

  22. I try to be kind but sometimes the invitation of others to be rude is overwhelming. And when I'm rude, I'm good at it!

  23. I gather there are restaurants when the staff are always ultra-rude and the customers go there specifically to be insulted. Or so they say. But it may be one of those urban myths.

  24. She's left-handed. That would explain it.

  25. I ate at a place like this in Cleveland called Dirty Dicks. We walked in and the guy yelled out "What's up sluts." We mouthed off right back. Not for everyday dining, but fun.

  26. As Anne Marie pointed out, in Philadelphia this place wouldn't be an anomaly.

  27. I've been there and we were warned the wait staff act rude, they also danced on the countertops and sang to the oldies. It closed a short while ago.

  28. I've been there! It's famous in Chicago. I took a friend from France who forgot what I'd told her about it, and her eyes nearly popped out of her head when the server plopped himself down next to her in the booth.
