Kismet

Mary ( Butter wouldn't melt)

Coincidence? Kismet? Fate?

Whatever they are? I love those strange little moments in life that dovetail together.
Seamlessly.
Yesterday was a case in point.
In a brief unsupervised moment, Scary Mary decided to de stuff part of the arm
Of the Prof's arm chair
It looked a mess

Exactly thirty minutes after I took this photo of the damage
I received a message from a friend from work called Greta
The message said
" do you want this? Free of charge will deliver?"
And with it was a photo of an arm chair!
An hour later this was sitting in our living room

How fantastic is that?
Thanks Greta
And thanks to the fickle finger of fate

The niece is getting rid of the 3 piece suite we gave her. So ungrateful. It is still in good condition. Free to you if you want. You just pay postage.

  6. We trained all our pups with "Bitter Lemon" (spray for fabrics and gel for wood furniture legs). Worked like a charm! Hope they sell it there?...nice chair by the way!

    3. It's been 8 years since we used it and I know the name was "Bitter Lemon" but Jacqueline's recipe sounds great and easy to make. You can use slip covers till she is over the teething and the spray shouldn't harm covers. Sounds like she likes the taste of Chris's elbow grease!!

  8. MARY (thinking) Mmmm! That new armchair looks delicious! I wonder if it is stuffed with sausages. I ripped the other sucker to pieces. Even Fatso (Winnie) couldn't stop me. I was so mad with The Prof for kicking my ass when Big John was out. He's always doing it. Phone the RSPCA someone! If this is a replacement chair for The Prof I am going to tear it to pieces when they are upstairs snoring away like hogs. Oops I've just dropped a little turd.

Mary is tuned in to the universe. She knew you were going to have an offer of a new chair and was just encouraging you to make room for it. Is she teething by any chance?

  18. Mary needs chew toys....and lots of cuddles!

  20. Perhaps butter would melt in her mouth. Leaves less evidence than an armchair.

  26. Boredom for Mary. Give the dog a (pseudo) bone.
We have at last tracked down a spare of our dog's favourite toy and he will get it as his Xmas gift. Shhh! don't tell him as it will be a lovely suprise next month.

  31. Ah, Mary, Mary ... are we teething? That sweet face would have to have a powerfully good reason to have done such a naughty thing. Otherwise, I just don't think it was her. Blame it on the cat, Mary! One of our chairs looks just about that bad and only cats live here.

  32. That made me laugh, people are very kind. It looks lovely and comfy.

  33. What about borrowing a playpen? Wire mesh the inside, and leave her in that, with plenty of toys, when she needs to be unsupervised..... or put the playpen around the new chair!!

  35. 'Saved by the bell'!! Maybe Chris won't notice?
One dog we had chewed everything in sight! Sophie on the other hand doesn't even think to!! Go figure!!

  37. Serendipity!

One of our dogs was a chewer. She chewed the rockers on the rocking chair, but her especial favourite thing to chew was paper. On more than one occasion we'd return home to find our living room looking as though a ticker tape parade had ensued while we were out.

  38. Liz D is right it is Bitter Apple, we keep a bottle of the stuff in the pantry. Wonderful stuff and is available on the internet.

  39. Cardboard boxes were Tuppy's big one, which we thought was fine until she started trashing parcels that we hadn't got the stuff out of yet, with collateral damage involved!

  41. I guess others have said "don't let Mary near the damn thing"!
    Lovely chair! And happy coincidence.
