My Head!

I don't feel well......
I only had a banana for my tea at work last night
So I wasn't quite physically prepared for the many bottles of wine that were consumed at the neat little house of the affable despots last night.
I feel as though I have got a first grade subdural haematoma going on this morning!
Now, I think it is evident to all that affable despot Jason is a naturally humorous old bean  but perhaps I have not paid lip service to the fact that affable despot spouse claire is more naturally funny than two Victoria Woods trapped together in a lift....
Her humour is typically northern with it's bite of observational warmth.
I am still tittering to myself about her stories of being a slightly harassed teacher in a primary school
I think the crate of white wine helped too.......especially as we ended the evening with the promise of organising a village pantomime shortly after The Prof tap danced on the dining room floor

......... Back to bed.....

  1. From one nurse to another, self inflicted = no sympathy plus I had a alcohol free Saturday night due to my brother being re admitted with another stroke.
Sounds like you had a good night though 😉

  2. I never understand why chemist aren't open on a Sunday. Saying that. Folk will pay fifty pounds for a night out and won't pay a tenner for the cure. I always find a few pints of water soon make you feel better. Are you still cycling?

An excess of alcohol is tolerated less as you get older. Nevertheless, sometimes you just need to hang loose.

  9. Well it sounds like you had a good night and plenty of laughs. I have also suffered the drinking on an empty stomach, my stomach churns at the thought ....

  19. Do you remember promising that you would play the part of Buttons in the village panto? That's the demon drink for you! You can't even remember exactly what you said.

  21. A banana and lots of wine doesn't sound like a winning combination! You better go to work and suck on some oxygen, that should do the trick.

  29. Been a long time since I tied one on. I miss it! I don't drink at all any more but the odd night of fun would be nice. Having said that I don't miss hangovers at all! :) Prof, that face is adorable!

  30. Well, I shouldn't feel sorry for you, but I do... poor John! You don't tell how Chris is feeling? Similar? The dogs have better walk quietly - even the noise of toenails on the floor can be pretty bad, can't it!!
