This beautiful eagle is now mine,
A gift from the man who made it
Colin and Yola Endres have lived in the village all of their lives
And are due to move very soon to Manchester to be near their daughter.
Both are in frail health , so I went around to their house to pick flowers from their garden in order to enter the show for a last time. Colin gave me this sculpture as a gift and I entered it into the show under his name
Of course it won a prize!
Nice looking fruit
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift John and how thoughtful to enter their flowers and the eagle .
ReplyDeleteWell done Colin - it's a beauty. x
ReplyDeleteYAYZ for colin! and lucky john for acquiring this carving!
ReplyDeleteStunning! It's all stunning! Mightily impressive.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant souvenir of a fantastic show, and how lovely that he won a prize before leaving the village :-)
ReplyDeleteDeeply enamoured of the bird , you can't beat folkart
ReplyDeleteThat was so thoughtful to do and how wonderful that he won a prize before leaving the village. It is sad that they are leaving, but good that they have a daughter to look after them.
ReplyDeleteYou have a big heart, oh, that the entire world could show such kindness.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful and wonderful gift and good of you to enter it "secretly". I'm sure they were very pleased.
I love the eagle! What a nice gift - - and a thoughtful gesture for you to enter it in the show.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting so many photos of the flower show. I also love the eagle.
