I've been painting all day
So when I was full of aches and pains at teatime
I put it down to balancing on a kitchen chair in mrs Hopkins slippers
However I have a temperature
So I'm off to bed and
With chris away
If you don't hear from me tomorrow
Call the authorities
Get well soon, we'll miss you. Keep out of the snow too.
ReplyDeleteOh Lord. May it not be the flu.
ReplyDeleteIf you should pass in the hours to come , let it be known that you told us you were ill .....
ReplyDeleteNot a man cold!?!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, John.
Oh dear. I'm sure the pets will enjoy using you as a heating pad. Best wishes for a quick return to health!
ReplyDeleteOh John...hope you feel better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteMrs Hopkins wants her slippers back! (Sorry, but someone had to say it!)
ReplyDeleteLook after yourself. Please.
ReplyDeletePainting in slippers is exhausting, especially mules - I hope you feel much better very soon x

ReplyDeleteWhitehall 1212 was Scotland Yard - are you about to commit a murder?
ReplyDeletealibi in order...sick as a dog in bed with the dogs...we can all testify
DeleteOh no...feel better soon. Virtual chicken soup headed your way.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you get for taking Mrs Hopkins' footwear, very likely without her permission, too :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I hope it's a minor virus and gone by the morning. If not, can you call someone to walk the dogs? Affable despot Jason fellow, maybe? Or maybe not, I see he's poking fun at you in the comments above!
Now I'll do nothing but worry about you. Take it easy, dear one.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Feel better soon.

When I was at college we called it Painter's Colic. GWS.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I read the last line as Call the Midwife. I hope it isn't a really bad cold.
ReplyDeleteOh Lordy, nothing worse than being sick when there is no one to look after you. Lots of fluids, was going to say hotties, but I think you won't need them! paracetamol and if you have a kindly neighbour, chicken soup. Wellness rays coming your way from sunny Auckland John.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, New Zealand
The NON-emergency health issue phone number here is 111 (though I'd venture to say most Brits still don't know it). This seems a golden opportunity for someone (not me) to use it, as they're just sitting there twiddling thumbs, waiting for calls to come through.
ReplyDeleteGet well pronto, J.G. Your doggies need their walks!
I hope you're feeling well enough to look after yourself and the animals today. Take care and if you can.... take it easy for a few days. xx
ReplyDeleteGWS. Hope you don't find too many doggie 'accidents' when you eventually feel better. x
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteSend for Aunty Gladys! Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning. XX
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping when Mrs Hopkins calls by to retrieve her slippers she finds you well enough to fancy a scotch egg.
ReplyDeleteHope you sweated it out overnight surrounded by dogs John. I dreamt about you last night, so maybe I am getting a temperature too.
ReplyDeletePainting? No wonder you're not feeling well. I hate painting.
