So it's curried chicken for supper me thinks
I think I will start to decorate the cottage this afternoon
Twinkly light therapy......that's the answer to the night shift blues
I may even take my yearly New York snow globe photo amid the fairy lights
"I'll admit I may have seen better days, but I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail, "(Margo Channing)
Twinkly lights should indeed bring a sense of Christmas magic and peace to your cottage and to you. Then....a good nights sleep.
ReplyDeleteNow there is a marketing opportunity ~ snow globes of Trelawnyd
ReplyDeleteIt is beginning to look a little like Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSomething peaceful about tiny twinkle lights I have the clear ones up year round on a 3 foot grapevine tree as decoration. Love the snow globe!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothin like a bit of twinkly light therapy to make you forget you cooked a dinner too many.
ReplyDeleteAhh - you have my empathy. I worked many a night shift in the CCU among other places - oh dear when was that? 1982 in RT.
ReplyDeleteIs that a harmonica sitting on the shelf in the top photo? Is there something you're not telling us?
ReplyDeleteFuck..its a base of a silver candlestick
DeleteWeird you missed that!
Oh yes - can't see the wood for the trees.
DeleteTree, lights and greens up here. I need green and light therapy too! Now if we could keep the bloody cats out of the tree.....
ReplyDeletePlease don't drop New York and smash it to bits. That would be even worse than the attack on The World Trade Centre.
ReplyDeleteLaudably mild reaction to a dinner too many! Maybe put the lights up and then go an have a snooze with the dogs?
ReplyDeleteI think you should go to the pub!
ReplyDeleteGood Sunday, John. I hope by now, you've settled in bed with the dogs. I like the twinkle bit - good coloring!
ReplyDeleteTwinkly lights are definitely the answer. I did not feel at all Christmassy but now the tree and twinkly lights are up, the Christmas spirit is beginning.
ReplyDeleteTwiggy
I have just had some twinkly light therapy, i was wearing them and tinsel :)
ReplyDeleteWell, there you go - no need to cook for supper tonight. That's a win in my book. It seems strange to me that the congregation would go en masse to a pub - that would raise a few eyebrows in our part of the world! Enjoy your lights; those photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI woke up this morning and thought, 'good - tonight is Walking Dead.' Darn it.
ReplyDeletePretty !
ReplyDeleteJust got the cards back from the printers so I am signing and addressing the long distance ones today. Picking out the tree tomorrow. and will start putting up the fairy lights.
I was so on track and then everyone got sick ! so I am about 2 weeks
late.
I was just thinking of you and the first photo which I adore, and WaaLaaa here it is in your post today !
Thank You, made my morning.
cheers, parsnip
Fairy light magic.
ReplyDeleteI hope your sleep was blissful.
Lovely twinkly lights. Thanks for sharing, John. ♥
ReplyDeleteYou've made me come over all Cristmassy. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Now say something to get me in the Christmas Spirit.
ReplyDeleteI like sparkly things.
ReplyDeleteLike my wit
DeleteLike you xx
DeleteI was just thinking of twinkly light therapy myself !
ReplyDeleteThe house is sparkling clean and neat and needs some decorations.
I am considering not having a tree. It might be too drastic and last minute I will be out running around looking for a tree that is leftover .. it will no doubt be the saddest little tree. Which might make it perfect.
Happy Holidays !!
I ended up not starting with the decorations or cards today, as I had initially planned. Instead I scrubbed the kitchen floor, played hockey, and went to lovely concert. Thinking some twinkly light therapy during our next snowstorm (slated for tomorrow) might be the ticket.
