But I couldn't resist just watching this brief clip before I went
For those that don't know ( and don't care) the scruffy guy with the crossbow is a redneck, asperger character called Daryl Dixon who has become a sort of anti hero during the five seasons of The Walking Dead. The woman he is reunited with is a friend, an abused wife and mother called Carol, a character he bonded with throughout the series.
Their scenes have always been underplayed in favour of the action pieces, and brief as it was, I thought it was one of the best scenes in the whole five series...
Hey ho
Awww , that was nice. :-)
ReplyDeleteI won't spoil it too much, but John, last night Carol rocked and Darryl is hooked for the long term. She is his match and proved it to him and Rick last night
ReplyDeleteShan't spoil it for you......but it's a damned good start to the series
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of heavy breathing. What happens next?
ReplyDeleteCool, I just saw what happened next.
DeleteCounting down!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great season opener. I love Daryl and Carol: for some reason I think she is a mother figure to Daryl. This is going to be an interesting season and they've already been renewed for another.
ReplyDeleteonly 20 minutes! *squeal*
ReplyDeleteI don't even watch that show and found that scene incredibly moving. From what I have read about the season opener, Carol is a true bad ass. Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never watched The Walking Dead and probably never will because zombies do not appeal to me, even though it is filmed here in Atlanta and one of my old friends from AT&T days has been an extra in many of the episodes.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it all has a happy ending with cuddles and kisses all round.
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry if that comment was a spoiler...
DeleteBe sure and continue to watch after the ending credits. Surprise!
ReplyDeleteOMG John! OMG! Does anyone know why it was on at 10 and then repeated at 11? but OMG. wow
ReplyDeleteAmazing episode. You will LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteYou think that scene knocked your socks off...just wait!
ReplyDeleteHere is the power of John Gray and his merry band of commenters:
ReplyDeleteI don't care for much of what's on TV. I am not interested in zombies. I dislike greasy hair, my own or anyone else's (cough, Darryl's hair, cough); it makes me feel cold and unwell for some reason.
And yet ... I am nearly to the point of watching this bloody show!
I admit it, I cover my eyes during the gory scenes. The actual story line is great.
DeleteThink post apocalypse drama
I have avoided this show for the first few seasons but John's rave reviews have made a fan outta me. I HAVE to watch it now. My likes and dislikes are similar to yours
DeleteWon't spoil it except to say AMAZING episode! Truly one of the best ever....
ReplyDeleteMust take note - am an Archers addict myself!
ReplyDeleteMy only negative thought on that episode was "How in the heck did Carol get cleaned up - not only so quickly, but where!?!"
ReplyDeleteWet wipes!
DeleteHaha!! Yep, that must have been it!
