Heather doing a hidden zip |
Would freehand champion Chinelo beat the off the wall sewing champ Tamara? Or would horsey metaphors lover Heather gallop up on the rails ? All was to play for in this dress making tv competition' where a selection of talented British needle workers knocked up a succession of hemmed items with beautiful seams.
In the end it was posh totty Heather that won...... And fair do's her final frock was pretty impressive.....then again what the hell to I know about fashion?
I still wear wellies to the cinema

Mr Grant is very dishy indeed!
ReplyDeleteIn an old king sort of way
DeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteThe truth comes out!!
ReplyDeleteWish I could get this series here....I appreciate good sewing skills, having watched and learned a bit from my mom and sister.
I like his hair too, John. Oh I wish I had hair like that.....
Great programme.. Sewing Porn at its best. That dress WAS impressive. Why does nobody remember the woman judge do you think?
ReplyDeleteDo you really need to ask that question?
Deletehe is very good looking isn't he?
ReplyDeleteBeing a quilter, I read your post and was agog over the sewing machine. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI do think the best one won. Enjoyed every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteDi
I will whip out the sewing machine and make something if Patrick Grant can judge it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who he is but who cares. Please tell me he has a fabulous voice.
cheers, parsnip
I saw the first series of this show, and found it surprisingly entertaining.
ReplyDeleteHeather's final dress was pretty impressive (loved the hat and whip!). I'm just astounded that my husband loves to watch this too, and I'm pretty sure it's got nothing to do with Mr Grant.
ReplyDeleteCompostman likes it as well Sue
Deletegoing to the pictures with wellies on does the popcorn fall inside and make you limp home
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about fashion either. I wear walking boots all the time unless we're going 'into town' (the local expression for going into the nearest city). Then I wear a pair of leather ankle boots I've had for years and also the one and only pair of decent trousers I own. Everything else is usually covered in mud, flour or dog drool!
ReplyDeleteI've never watched the show, sewing doesn't do it for me, since the advent of that sticky web stuff that irons on and keep up hems I've been free from the dreaded sewing machine ... in fact I flogged it last year at the car boot sale.
ReplyDeleteAnd what is it with men with beards admiring men with beards ... are you all in some sort of secret club. Lovely Hubby lusts after those ridiculous beards with a bead dangling from a thin bit ... I've warned him if he tries to grow one I'll wait until it's quite impressive and then chop it off one night when he's asleep
Yes - that dress was pretty impressive, with Chinelo's a close second. I think Chinelo might have won had she not made such a pig's ear of the silk tie. But Heather's dress was certainly couture.
ReplyDeleteAs for Patrick - everybody loves him don;t they - and his clothes are absolutely exquisite - he definitely never looks as though he has slept in them - and I would think the word wellies is a foreign language to him.
The best of British Television
ReplyDeleteI have loved watching this series, I was a big fan of Lynda but Heathers dress was very good and she deserved to win.
ReplyDeletePatrick Grant is just delicious. So glad Heather won. Even I would have worn that frock - it was lovely. I would have spit feathers if Tamara had won. She was too far up her own flower adorned arse for my liking
ReplyDeleteThat beard is mesmerising.............but the standard of sewing just makes me feel inadequate!! xxx
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought that dress was impressive...but, I still wanted Chinelo to win; she had so much more creative flair overall. As for Patrick? Yep, I'd be content for him to release the tension on my bobbins any day!
