Operation Dog Snot Removal

Mother-in-law ( to be) arrives tomorrow. I am working night shift tonight, so as regular readers will remember only too well, today is " dog snot removal day"
The cottage windows have been left wide,  glass has been polished, I have retrieved my bottle of " fabreeze" from the church cupboard where I had left it and have squirted every inch of the  cottage where dog arse touches fabric

Garden has been weeded, lawn has been cut

Front and back

Cupcakes have been made

Am I or am I not the gay version of  friggin Jane Asher?

  11. Wow - love the gardens. We just had snow here again yesterday. We'll be into Summer before we see Spring, I think this year. Cute cupcakes...let's see a photo of you in your apron John.

  12. I have no idea who Jane Asher is, but you sure are a version of something. The lawn & garden looks lovely, I wish I could pop over for some alfresco tea and scotch eggs.

    1. Oh my, could you imagine Hyacinth living next to His Greyness? I'd love to see her dealing with badly aimed bags of dog poo, naked bums in the window next door, bulldog farts wafting over the garden wall...hee hee!

  25. I hate dog snot! But, dogs do it. The digs are beautiful; have a great visit.

Jane Asher? Nah. You are so much prettier. Nigella eat your heart out. And the icing.

Mothers-in-law do have their uses: Their imminent arrival making you jump into action. Particularly in spring. When cob webs (and dogs' snot - disgusting) have nowhere to hide.

God damn it, John: I don't have a MIL, not even a lawn to mow.

    Ship shape greetings, as ever,
    U

  27. Well it all looks very spiffy and quite beautiful makes you look a very good 'catch' but then, your blog followers knew that all along. I regularly clear a line of dog snot from off the bay window (handy sofa in bay for the dogs to stand on).

  28. I just can't stop looking at the picture of your beautiful gardens - I haven't seen green grass since last September ... I think you're gonna need some Drool-Off as well as Febreze in about a minute.

  29. in our house it is called dog snot art to be looked at and admired but the cakes look good how have you managed to keep the dogs away hope all goes well with the inlaw

  30. Wow. It is cat snot here. They are different sizes so we have two snot trails to deal with on every window. Like snail trails but more tenanacious.

  31. You don't make transatlantic house calls, by any chance? Looks very spiffy and welcoming.

  32. John, just came by to re-enforce the fact that you are loved, all the way from Texas! Dog arse...fabreeze...sounds like a GREAT commercial!

  33. I want to be your MIL just for the cupcakes.

    Love,
Janie, who prefers to call it "dog frosting"

    ReplyDelete
  34. I had no idea you were a cake decorator too--I'd come just for those, and you wouldn't have to remove any dog-snot or spray fabreeze! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. You so are Jane Asher. I am coming round as I don't mind the smell of dog arse and love cup cakes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Everything looks so nice and clean! Love your gardens! Enjoy your visit - after a good night's rest.

  37. Not dog snot, pupkiss!

  38. Your future MIL will love you as we all do! For us Yankees, you have to tell us who Jane Asher is? Is she your version of Martha Stewart? Anyway, it all looks great. She should be pleased that you try and take such good care of her son - any mother would.

  39. Everything looks great, and if the cupcakes taste as good as they look, there won't be any awkward moments with your future mother-in-law! I don't know who Jane Asher is, either, but that doesn't matter.

  40. Yes John ......Yes you are... but I think that's the point really. Someone in a relationship has to be the titivating one and I guess that happens to be you. Place looks great, cupcakes look divine.

  41. I always enjoy your dog snot removal posts. The cakes look scrummy

  42. Did you remember to clean the horizontal line of dog snot off the windows? Our dogs leave lovely patterns on ours as they're looking out the windows.

We call those cakes Fairy Cakes up here! x

  43. Not Jane Asher - you are a cross between Mary Berry and Charlie Dimmock.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm sure she thinks you live like this all the time .... she'll be in for a rude awakening one day.

Bagsy a little duck topped cup cakes please :-)

  46. Somehow I just knew there would be cupcakes, and yet I don't know you at all. What gave me the clue, I wonder? Uncanny.

  47. Enjoy your visit with Sorrel. I hope all animals are on their best behaviour while she visits.
