Turkey in wool

Yes!
It is a selfie of my new " turkey" pullover, a delightful gift from Chris's big shopping spree over the border yesterday! Now I detest shopping trips and Chris loves them, so my sister accompanied him to all of the designer stores at Cheshire Oaks.
I don't know just how they do it. Hours of shopping, lunch, a glass of wine, more shopping and then even more shopping. It sounds like pure hell to me..... So I left them to it, and caught the train to Chester yesterday evening to meet them for dinner at a nice Italian.

Tuesday night! and out for dinner.....get him!

Chris  ( and his new Van Dyke beard and moustache ) and fellow shopper Janet
So it was a win win day all round. Chris and Janet had a wonderful shop, I got a new jumper and we all had a lovely meal and far too much wine .
I am in dire need of that first coffee this morning.......
Just a tad hungover!

  1. Love the jumper, and it's nice to know that as they shopped they were thinking of you :-)

  2. Sounds like a good day, especially the dinner part. But oh god John, I'm with you. I HATE shopping, of the physical variety, that is. When it comes to online shopping it's a different story, especially at 3am after too much wine.

The turkey jersey is a delight, and don't you look so slim! Svelte, even.

    1. PS I totally agree with you about shopping. You go into a shop, grab what you want, club it to death, take it home and do a dance. It is the only proper way to shop - The Hunter Way!!

And I thought it was going to be that someone knitted it for you, or should that be appliqué? Pretty good find though.

  9. I loathe shopping. Unless it's a bookstore... and then you'll need a crowbar to get my out of the shop.

And you look wonderful in your new jumper. :)

  10. I use to love walking around Chester browsing in the charity shops and a brilliant second hand book shop on the walls. My favourite book town is Hay on Wye. A town totally devoted to second hand books.

    1. Hay on Wye is my favorite holiday destination EVER. Next time I'm going to ship home a crate rather than try to fit everything in to luggage.

    2. Been a while since I went to Hay
      I loved it

  11. I agree about shopping, I would rather spend the day at the dentist. If I need something I tend to rush into the shop, grab the first thing that more or less fits and I am out of there. It has led to some pretty strange outfits!

  13. Well you get pigs in blankets, why not turkeys in wool?
Trust me to think of food!
I'm a 'take no prisoner' kind of shopper unless, it's books, thread, fabric, buttons etc then, it's hard to prise me away.

  14. the only shopping I do is for food; the other kind bores me to death!

    2. With all the compliments you're getting, perhaps you've come up with a new diet. Unlike the book, you could call it, The Stand Diet. Course, it may get a little hard on the back, eh?

  26. What good taste the two of them have! I love shopping -- but it doesn't always love me in that I end up exhausted. And Chester is such a lovely place to shop...

  27. I can just see Chris in the store when he spotted that sweater (or jumper, whatever): "Oh, I have GOT to get this, it's got John written all over it."

    What charming dinner companions, too!

  35. Looks cozy haha. I can totally identify with the dislike of shopping trips.

  36. That is a superb sweater.
When I was a teen I enjoyed shopping, now I just hate it, but I think it has to do with the fact that most clothes are made like crap and one never really knows what their true size is anymore. Ten in these pants, eight in those and twelve in another. Bastards.

  37. I feel like some sort of misfit - I love shopping...and the more parcels and shops the better.

  38. Blimey, you're looking very trim, fella!

  48. I'm not much of a shopper, either, once or twice a year, the mood strikes me, and if i don't do it then, it doesn't happen. I love when people buy me something i really like, and that teal colour suits you. As others have mentioned, you look fabulous. Love the pic of Chris and your sis, too. Everyone's looking so fetching.
