Yes!
It is a selfie of my new " turkey" pullover, a delightful gift from Chris's big shopping spree over the border yesterday! Now I detest shopping trips and Chris loves them, so my sister accompanied him to all of the designer stores at Cheshire Oaks.
I don't know just how they do it. Hours of shopping, lunch, a glass of wine, more shopping and then even more shopping. It sounds like pure hell to me..... So I left them to it, and caught the train to Chester yesterday evening to meet them for dinner at a nice Italian.
Tuesday night! and out for dinner.....get him!

Chris ( and his new Van Dyke beard and moustache ) and fellow shopper Janet |
So it was a win win day all round. Chris and Janet had a wonderful shop, I got a new jumper and we all had a lovely meal and far too much wine .
I am in dire need of that first coffee this morning.......
Just a tad hungover!
Chester at night
Love the jumper, and it's nice to know that as they shopped they were thinking of you :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day, especially the dinner part. But oh god John, I'm with you. I HATE shopping, of the physical variety, that is. When it comes to online shopping it's a different story, especially at 3am after too much wine.
ReplyDeleteThe turkey jersey is a delight, and don't you look so slim! Svelte, even.
It's adorable, like your gorgeous self!
ReplyDeletePS I totally agree with you about shopping. You go into a shop, grab what you want, club it to death, take it home and do a dance. It is the only proper way to shop - The Hunter Way!!
DeleteAnd I thought it was going to be that someone knitted it for you, or should that be appliqué? Pretty good find though.
ReplyDeleteChris looks much too happy. So much for your retirement fund!
ReplyDeleteHe still doesn't smile I photos...never will
DeleteThe top photo of you reminds me of all those statues of Lenin - except the jumper.
ReplyDeleteActually I think it's 'get you' - looking trim taut and quite terrific !
ReplyDeleteIs that camera lens distortion or have you really lost all that weight?
ReplyDeleteI am leaning forward.....it's an optical illusion
Delete......unfortunately....
DeleteBut...I thought your "hips don't lie??"
DeleteI loathe shopping. Unless it's a bookstore... and then you'll need a crowbar to get my out of the shop.
ReplyDeleteAnd you look wonderful in your new jumper. :)
I use to love walking around Chester browsing in the charity shops and a brilliant second hand book shop on the walls. My favourite book town is Hay on Wye. A town totally devoted to second hand books.
ReplyDeleteHay on Wye is my favorite holiday destination EVER. Next time I'm going to ship home a crate rather than try to fit everything in to luggage.
DeleteBeen a while since I went to Hay
DeleteI loved it
I agree about shopping, I would rather spend the day at the dentist. If I need something I tend to rush into the shop, grab the first thing that more or less fits and I am out of there. It has led to some pretty strange outfits!
ReplyDeleteLook at you 'snakehips'......jumper's uber-cool! x
ReplyDeleteWell you get pigs in blankets, why not turkeys in wool?
ReplyDeleteTrust me to think of food!
I'm a 'take no prisoner' kind of shopper unless, it's books, thread, fabric, buttons etc then, it's hard to prise me away.
the only shopping I do is for food; the other kind bores me to death!
ReplyDeletewhat does bingley think of the jumper?
Nice turkey!
ReplyDeleteNo gobble jokes?
Deletea perfect jumper for you! your sister has noodles on her head!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater and LOOK AT YOU!!!! Have you ever lost weight.
ReplyDeleteIt's the way I'm standing!
DeleteWith all the compliments you're getting, perhaps you've come up with a new diet. Unlike the book, you could call it, The Stand Diet. Course, it may get a little hard on the back, eh?
DeleteTee hee
DeleteLovely turkey...verra thoughtful of Chris and your sister. Chris looks handsome in his facial fur!
ReplyDeleteno need to be humble...you're looking positively thin...add another to the I hate shopping club...what a bore...thank God for online retailers...
ReplyDeleteChris is looking pretty sharp too...
So, another Bingley to keep an eye on?
ReplyDeleteLooking good John! You're getting thinner! Lovely sweater.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the lunch and a glass of wine bit...but the shopping? No thanks.
ReplyDeleteJane x
The two loves of your life gave you the bird. How thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteOnce I got my head around what a 'jumper' was in the UK.......it looks great on you John!
ReplyDeleteLooks warm as toast, John. Love it on you. Deb
ReplyDeleteLovely view of Chester, lovely view of the new beard and of the sweater. I would have been on the way home with you John, I no longer shop except on line.
ReplyDeleteWhat good taste the two of them have! I love shopping -- but it doesn't always love me in that I end up exhausted. And Chester is such a lovely place to shop...
ReplyDeleteI can just see Chris in the store when he spotted that sweater (or jumper, whatever): "Oh, I have GOT to get this, it's got John written all over it."
ReplyDeleteWhat charming dinner companions, too!
I don't think I could continue shopping after the wine. zzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteI despise shopping. I will use things until they're positively ragged to avoid shopping.
ReplyDeleteAnd you certainly look thinner! Nice job!
coo look at your skinny legs !
ReplyDeleteLove the photos - cannot wait to see Chester in person one of these years. And you're the most splendid cock err um tom of the walk!
ReplyDeleteOptical illusion or not your look great. Hips don't lie !
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater !
cheers, parsnip
Nice jumper. The colour suits you. Have you named the turkey yet?
ReplyDeleteThe only time you will find this old man shopping is at a Nursery.
ReplyDeleteLooks cozy haha. I can totally identify with the dislike of shopping trips.
ReplyDeleteThat is a superb sweater.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teen I enjoyed shopping, now I just hate it, but I think it has to do with the fact that most clothes are made like crap and one never really knows what their true size is anymore. Ten in these pants, eight in those and twelve in another. Bastards.
I feel like some sort of misfit - I love shopping...and the more parcels and shops the better.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in Zara
DeleteBlimey, you're looking very trim, fella!
ReplyDelete"Delightful" is one word for the new jumper...perhaps not one I'd choose, but...whatever!
ReplyDeleteDon't you look slim in the lovely sweater! I love Chester as well. A friends Mother used to have a restaurant on the river Dee near Chester... built into the rocks called "The Boat House" lovely restaurant full of fun. Great picture of Janet and Chris as well.
ReplyDeleteJohn, you look positively HOT in your new turkey sweater! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely! Don't you look good! Woo woo!
ReplyDeleteX
DeleteI like your turkey, and you look very thin. Still cutting back on Scotch eggs? I don't like to shop, except on the rare occasion that someone else pays.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
One egg a week!
DeleteAnd it's friggin killing me x
Well look at you - skinny minny! Great jumper -perfect for you :) Love Chris' new beard too...looks great
ReplyDeleteYou need to wear that for Thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteI detest shopping unless its for food! Chris looks spiffing in his Van Dyke and the Turkey jumper is brill, but what I must say John is how trim you are looking. Wish I could follow suit but unfortunately I still look like a doughnut! (Probably all that food shopping!!)
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, NZ
Nice turkey! The model is looking very svelte.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a shopper, either, once or twice a year, the mood strikes me, and if i don't do it then, it doesn't happen. I love when people buy me something i really like, and that teal colour suits you. As others have mentioned, you look fabulous. Love the pic of Chris and your sis, too. Everyone's looking so fetching.
