You Couldn't Make It Up

I watched this video just once before and was reduced to a steaming pile of emotional jelly when I first saw it.
Reunion stories kind of stab at my heart, when I watch them. The overwhelming need dogs have for their pack leaders to be reunited with them can be incredibly strong.

  1. I didn't have enough tissues, and have cried a puddle. How truly wonderful.

  6. That wily old lady is like Oklahoma City's Aunt Gladys - but with a few extra pounds. Lovely tale but as a rough tough Yorkshireman, no tears came into my eyes - it was an eyelash that did it!

  10. It was one of those happy tearful moments, but I found myself irritated with the reporter. Stupid questions, and she never offered to help get the dog out from under the rubble.

  13. Sorry, J.G. I just dare NOT watch this. Knowing what it's about and just reading the comments above, I've already become misty-eyed - and it's going to penetrate to my very heart and soul if I torture myself by playing it. But thanks for giving the chance to those who are made of sterner stuff.

    2. As the recommendation came from you, J.G., I've just watched it (through gritted teeth). Managed to keep the blubbing at bay but it was a darned close thing. Would have succumbed if it had been a longer film. But, yes, I do feel better now. Thanks.

  14. Rears ae running down my cheeks as I write this John. The thing that amazed me is that when the dog emerged it looked about it as though wondering what had happened - what a truly happy ending.

  18. Thank you for sharing this, John. I hadn't seen it. Oh, the look of confusion on that poor dog's face--his owner may know exactly what happened, but it seems beyond his understanding. How amazing he lay there for so long and then just trotted away. Their endurance is phenomenal.

Now excuse me while I go love on Rosie for awhile.

  25. I watched this before and cried then, too. Jim, my youngest cat, jumped up on my lap, purred, and headbutted me, as he saw me wiping my eyes with a hanky. That of course, added to the tear flow.

  26. I've seen it before but it chokes me up just thinking about it...
The other 2013 video that gets me every time is actually a commercial but still great I think, here's a link, in case you haven't seen it, with a bit of behind the scenes footage as well. Get the hankies out!

  27. John, I love this sweet and touching video. It was a happy ending to a tragic event. I did have to laugh a little when the dog came out, it was as if he was saying, " Is this my cue?" But I found myself saying to the person doing the interview, "Drop the microphone and help her PLEASE!!"

  28. John thanks for this, obviously a tear jerker but what the heck! Lovely x
