Wait for it

Now I wrote a very pithy review of Les Misérables last night and finished it with a rather disgusting story about the use of a digital thermometer.....
Alas IPad apps have lost it, so you all will have to wait until later to read both
The weather is closing in, Chris has gone for supplies and we await the snow

  1. 40 hours of snow I read in the Telegraph. Gosh! And then the blithe comment by the gas companies that the heating for thousands of homes would fail. Right now the media should be warning people of the dangers of using portable gas heaters in confined unventilated spaces.

I hope you and your menagerie get through it OK.

  2. Keep warm and safe! It's pretty, cold and still snowing here in the Midlands. I stocked up yesterday so apart from picking up Madam later from school, I shall be inside drinking hot chocolate and staying warm.

  3. Good luck with the snow. We are waiting, too. A little this afternoon, then more predicted for Saturday pm. Winter here we go!

  4. Have to agree with Hippo on the portable heater thing. As for days like these, supplies being brought in and a good film on the telly are the order of the day methinks. I bet it's colder there than here!

  5. Lots of snow here, people sledging down the Tor and my dogs digging mad holes all over the garden :-)

  6. Alas, no snow here, but we do have lakes instead of fields due because we are under a heavy amount of wetness. Hope the snow arrives only in minimal quantities.

  7. Plenty of snow falling here, in the Midlands . . . I dare say the schools will be closing early. Take care x

  8. No snow here in my corner of the world, just cold wind-- I need something 'pretty' and wish we'd get some.

  11. Heavy snow here in Shropshire, out come the legwarmers, cowls, scarves, gloves (and that's just inside the house !)

  12. It was 0.1 degrees F here this morning (-17.7 for the rest of the world). Chores were cold!
I have a bad feeling about this thermometer story...only because our human one wasn't working and we had a child with a fever....but I restrained myself!

  14. Daughter collected from school at lunchtime. We plan to bring the quilt downstairs, cuddle up on the sofa with the dog and enjoy a menu of banana bread, hot chocolate and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

  15. Ack... stock up and keep warm.
We had a few days and night here that were beyond our usual
winter weather. We dropped down to 17 two nights in a row. But now it will be warming up with the night temps above freezing and days in the high 60's. More like what it should be. Thank goodness !

    cheers, parsnip

  17. There have been major bushfires around 60kms away. They have not been a threat to me but I have friends and colleagues in the middle of it. They are all safe, as far as I know. It's always a scary time of year in Southern Australia!
