Home Alone

Now with Chris being away so often, I guess a couple of you may be wondering just what I get up to when home alone
well here are a few examples of today's treats :-

x 2 !!!!!!
then

Miranda (The Dinner Party episode)
Chris detests her
This episode was hilarious

Then the Anglo-Irish
Monster/comedy/horror film

Which was a cracking watch
Just stopped for a dog wee stop, blog moment and a cuppa
Then I intend to day dream to some epic music
(I mentally play scenes from the movie which I have planned in my head)
Chris hates this kind of thing too

Then I think I will have another

 a phonecall to friends

as I sit in front of the fire in my underpants and
t shirt

Yes a border line mentally ill/geek
and why not?
Oh I will watch the new first episode of Borgen
(a cracking Danish Political drama)

  2. I will blame you for my weight gain! I had no idea what a scotch egg was before reading your blog. For a few weeks, I was saved by thinking they were a regional delicacy found only far away from my home in the pacific NW - then, while watching a show on a local restaurant boom in a nearby (like within walking distance) neighborhood, I heard of one very trendy hot spot that specializes in scotch eggs! I am doomed and can only hope that the walk to and fro offset the calories - damn you sir! :-)

  11. Hello John... stumbled here via Nelly. Your hen in the header is a hoot, and your scotty reminds me so much of my Fergus (who went to where ever dogs go when they die). Still miss that little dog with the big attitude! I will try the Scotch eggs with a bottle of Kilt Lifter!

  15. Hey John!! We just found out about the TV show Miranda - LOVE her! Unfortunately our PBS station only shows a few of the second season, Netflix doesn't carry any of her show. Boo hiss.

    I heart scotch eggs! Enjoy!

Miranda was hysterical - we all were in stitches.

  24. Home alone is wonderful - but you can keep those scotch eggs. My mother made them when I was a child, and just the thought of them makes my mouth curl with distaste. Euuuuw. And yuck. Enjoy the rest of your you time.

  25. Sounds pretty damn good to me. And I am rather partial to a scotch egg now and again.

  26. Grabbers looks like a hoot, I must look out for it. Was that Richard Coyle playing the lead? I haven't seen him in anything since Coupling, years ago. I always admired his acting.

  27. I wonder how scotch eggs are with single malt? I too would prefer them with beer, but His Self, The MacKinnon would probably like the scotch. I have a recipe...maybe I will be brave this weekend and try it out! It seems like the sausage wouldn't want to stick to the eggs.

  28. So that's what a Scottish egg is. Haha. I thought it was chocolate...
Glad you're enjoying yourself, John. :o)

  29. And Miranda has a new boyfriend.

Have you tried a Manchester egg? Black pud' instead of sausage meat.

  31. I did exactly the same yesterday evening....Borgen anyway. Isn't it fab. Looks like they've put a bit more money into the second series; a real helicopter!

I love the description of what a Scotch Egg is for the benefit of dollar spenders.

  32. A shame there isn't a vegetarian version of the Scotch Egg. And if you really have a phone of that vintage, it's probably worth thousands....

  33. Borgen is excellent. I love the way they can make something as potentially soporific as the appointment of an EU Commissioner into edge-of-the-seat drama.

  34. Good gawd, i looked up the recipe for scotch eggs...

my arteries need a rotorooting just by reading the directions..take it easy with those, they may look beautiful and harmless, but in 10 years time they'll take you out!

  35. I do like the Kathie Winkle plate that your Calypso eggs are sitting on.

  36. Those eggs seem expensive to me? Though as a demi-veg I haven't had one in years. I wonder if a decent veg one could be made, I know you can get them but they've always looked nasty to me so I left my memories unsullied. Do miss them though...
Argh - another person here to blame you for a future expanding waistline.... :-)
