Flower Show Build Up

Every year I worry about the number of entries to the Flower Show, and every year I needn't have done so.
This year our entries ( including the Childrens' art from the school) number around the 400 mark which was a real boost to the committee, who have worked all morning preparing the hall and the refreshments for tomorrow's show

Tablecloths all ironed with a vase of garden flowers on each!

Off to pick my veg......

  2. Looks like you're well organised.

By the way does Sylvia know you refer to her as 'The Cleavage'?

  4. Oh, it just looks so wonderful!
I have to ask too, does Sylvia know that is her identifier? LOL!
    400 entries! Fantastic!
Thought of you this morning John..you got your eye pecked and I stepped, barefoot, on a scorpion!
(yes, they get into the house-it was my own fault-no harm done though).

  13. Off to pick your veg? Well make sure you close the curtains! It can be an arrestable offence!
Trelawnyd seems like a rural dream and your active involvement in the life of the village has surely helped to maintain its healthy, communal character. Not quite Walkley is it?

  19. I knew you would get the ironing done and the flowers picked. Good luck with the weather tomorrow, although it does not look good on the weather map.

  20. If there are 400 entries, is your village now bereft of flowers? I imagine garden after garden of flowerless stalks!

  27. I am reading all this with great interest as I am the one who organises our village Flower Show, which we hold in November. A much more modest affair than yours, though! We're trying to revive the tradition which dies out years ago, and this year's show will be our third. Take lots of photos and I hope it all goes wonderfully well.

What would Trelawnyd do without you, John!

  28. Ah, Aunty Gladys reminds me of my Welsh Nanna, who always wors a pinny like that one and came from a mining village. I had an Aunty "Glad" too.
    Have a fab day John.
