Do people actually suffer from "Bloggers' block?"
I have wondered about this before, as several of the bloggers that I have followed over the years have actually documented that they have run out of...
words to type;
steam to share or...
just an inclination not to blog.
Today I feel a little like this.
I know where it comes from.though, or at least I think I know....
June, July and August has been busy, adrenaline filled months where the Open day and Flower Show has filled much of my spare time.
Both have proved to be successful
Both have galvanized a community spirit and a kind of "il fait bon vivre" feeling..
Now I have come down....with a tiny bit of a bump
Yes it's all ME ME ME isn't it?!
Might have a break for a day or so..in the mean time, I will have to pull myself up by the bra straps
I have animals to worm , the goose house to clean out and the front garden to clear up
x
Take a tip from me, John. If you haven't got anything to say, say it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think I just have tom....
ReplyDeleteTry drunk gardening, or even drunk worming. I'll bet you'll have something to say after that!
ReplyDeleteJohn, be gentle with yourself. You've had a very hectic time and I'm not surprised that you've met yourself coming backwards. When your doing something completely different and had chance to unwind a bit, something'll suddenly dawn on you to write about. x
ReplyDeleteAnd that should have said, 'you're', not 'your' - time for the mid-morning cuppa methinks! x

ReplyDeleteHave a good week
See yea George xxx
I've got comment writers block!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling well. Have a lovely break.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break..we'll be waiting!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how the busier we are, the more time we have to sit and write. And the more stuff we have to write about.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to structure what I write. Certain things on certain days. It gives me a topic to go on or at least a theme.
Good Luck!
You have been in hyper-drive all summer. Rest, enjoy the animals and your family life.
ReplyDeleteI have heard cooking in the nude is very relaxing but don't fry bacon!
Take some time for you...we will be here when you return. Enjoy.
I've had bloggers block for the last eight years so I've just been filling the space with anything that occurs to me until I can think of something sensible to say.
ReplyDeleteHi John. I've been encountering the same problem. It's perfectly natural not to want to blog...something inside us wants to do something else, or switch off for a bit, or 'change channels'.
ReplyDeleteJust take a break! Maybe your need to get away from the blog has coincided with a jaunt to Sheffield and you didn't notice.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be here when you get back!
Well I'm hardly a veteran at this, but I would suggest taking the camera outside, with no preconceived notion of what to photograph whatsoever. But you must take at least 20 shots of something - probably something you wouldn't normally consider even.
ReplyDeleteYou'll probably find you've got inspiration and photographs for at least two or three unique blogs.
Please keep up the daily posts - you are one of two of my only daily bloggers and these I do so look forward to - even if it is just Constance's flatulence.
Just make it up...how are we to know?
ReplyDeleteJane x
When in distress about what to write about, pull out the camera and start taking pictures of the critters. You certainly have enough to get yourself through any number of blocks. I'd like to see the two little goosies that you adopted last year. They're among my favorites. Oh, and those lovely ducks, too.
ReplyDeleteYou know that I know EXACTLY what this bloggers block is... :) Thank you for your support - you can't know how much I appreciated it.
ReplyDeleteSpend some YOU time and then come back and you'll be ready to share it with US!
A nice walk in the woods will cure bloggers block. Or a vacation.
ReplyDeleteRather than a momemtary block, I feel I am facing a 50 foot wall right now even though I had quite a few ideas yesterday. Where did they go?
ReplyDeleteTake some more pictures of Constance; you can't lose with her.
I'm with Starting Over - more photos of Constance! Or, perhaps you could organize a Parade of Pets fashion show with proceeds to some worthy Trelawnyd charity. Pets in clothes, tea parties, scones, flowers. What's not to love.
ReplyDeleteBeats worming the animals . . .
Just relax. Take a long walk and spend some time with your critters. Their antics always makes for some excellent posts.
ReplyDeleteYes blogger's block is a true phenomenon, I just decided to blog whenever the spirit moves me. You don't have to feel like you need to blog every day, let alone multiple times per day. You will still have the same following and if not, so be it.
ReplyDeleteSummer in Alaska is so short and I have had so much fun this summer. I am winding down from all of that as well.
I read your blog a lot but don't always comment. Sending love xo
Honey Bear,
ReplyDeleteAll I know is when the temps started hitting 37C; I just lost the will to type. Then add in all the extra work to keep the critters alive, a wilting garden, two homeschooling boys, and a cranky hubby. Something broke and it was my will to type on a daily basis. Either way, just know we love your posts and will be here after your reprieve.
BTW point me to a new box of frogs!
ROFL,
Mal
I don't comment very often but I always read your blog:)I understand exactly how you are feeling as I am also finding it hard to blog at the moment. I'm blaming the heat and humidity that has pretty well sapped the life out of us here this summer.
ReplyDeleteYou are just feeling a bit flat after your well deserved highs. Please dont post about worming animals! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou have had a busy time of it, and a break from blogging may be just the thing.
ReplyDeleteI finally treated myself to a nap yesterday afternoon--first one i had all year, and wondered why i waited so long.

I like Tom's advice, say it anyway is a good one!
ReplyDeleteIf I were you, I wouldn't buy any of that Blogalax!!! Sounds dreadful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have had Blogger Block before. A good way to inspire your self is to do MEME's.
ReplyDeleteA few months ago, I had some epic blockage and I did the 30 day blog challenge. But it really inspired me.
Spend time with your animals and Christopher. That's what's important. Recharge the batteries of life.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be here whenever you feel up to coming back to us.
I get blogger's block whenever I run out of:
ReplyDeletea)empathy with all humanity
b)stories to tell and/or sleep
c)wine
d) all of the above
Apparently, when faced with university exam multiple choice questions c) is statistically the most likely answer.
