I forgot to add this century old photo of London Road in the centre of the village with all of the others in my previous post....the scene today ( apart from the traffic) has not changed too much at all!
It's 10pm and Sorrel and Chris have gone to bed....I have had 1 hour's sleep in 24 and am wide awake....go figure......
Great pictures - and previous post. There are very few for my village in wales (where I live about half the year); wish I had some as good as these.
ReplyDeleteSo was it the main road leading to London ?
ReplyDeleteLove the bottle-glass windows, so very "Dickens".
You are correct, not changed much in all those years, except maybe for the cat-eyes.
Great pictures, I enjoyed this post so much.

That does sound typical, sleep wise. I hope you can sleep well when you finally do, John.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for another very interesting picture. :)
Love these comparison shots - this and the post below so interesting.
ReplyDeleteHope you get some better quality sleep soon. I'm a raging insomniac too, so can't offer any solution.
What an interesting photo! And how do you manage to stay upright without sleeping for such a long time?
ReplyDeleteI am such a whore for my bed. I sometimes go to bed at 8 p.m. just because I am cold and cranky and I love falling asleep.
Thanks for taking the time to post old and new photos. Again in America we slaughter buildings and memories left and right even those barely 20 or 30 years old.
ReplyDeleteOver-tired and wired, I know what that's like. I hope you are sleeping by now.
ReplyDeleteHi John! I've really enjoyed your last 2 posts--It's amazing how some things change and some are just caught in time! I hope you've gotten some sleep, if not, I hope you're making something wonderful for breakfast in the morning! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post...the old and new shots are so interesting to look at! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed these last two posts John. Good work!
