A diverting blog site which always seems to lift the spirits is the fascinating "New York in plain Sight"...blog which laboriously chronicles the street corners in the Island of Manhattan in hundreds of photographs.

Our favourite area of midtown is set out clearly for me to explore! The much visited deco bar and restaurant "Docks" located off 42nd Street and 3rd looks a little bland ; as does the Beekman tower hotel at Mitchell place..but to me the photos bring back so lovely memories of the big apple.
Have a troll around the blog site, it is fascinating

Working night shift tonight.
John, I'm so sorry that you've still got this cloud hanging over you--I hope everything you're going through resolves soon, and you feel better!! Hang in there!! Take care!!
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that you guys come to the states and here the people dream of the UK. However, you get a better deal cost wise!
ReplyDeleteIve only been to US once and found the people amogst the friendliest and courteous ive ever met, so much so we've booked to go touring florida for 3 weeks next year. As for cost though i dont think we get a better deal as the UK high cost of living is consistantly high as to USA, we are now paying at the current exchange rate $7.70c for a US gallon of unleaded fuel.
ReplyDeleteIts more cost effective to go to USA because you guys have a handle on your economy as opposed to the UK who dont have a clue.
Hope the night shift is not too busy and you don't get tired out. Or... maybe it would be best if it was very busy and you don't have time for your dark mood. Thanks for the link. Give yourself a treat!
ReplyDeleteJust checking in, and saying HOWDY!
