The fox returned last night.
This morning a small circle of blue feathers marked the spot in the Churchyard where another of the guinea fowl met a sad end.
At dawn, when I returned home, only one blue and the delicate little black male survived the night, but at least both have "teamed" up with the old hand Hughie.
I am gutted.
But dogs need to be walked and pig food needs to be bought....
I will try to blog a little happier blog later
Oh John, again I'm so very sorry to hear your news!!!! I was so hoping everyone would be safe and I know you and everyone else were too...I will continue to hope you find comfort among all your friends again today, and that the fox finds his meals elsewhere. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to read of your fox attacks! It's so terribly sad about the guinea fowl after you raised them. I really hope it's the last of it now. BIG HUGS to you my friend xx
ReplyDeleteTried to call you last night, will try again tonight. Nx

Snow, ice, ferocious and predatory wild animals...Lillian Gish could have starred in the film version, presuming there was a handy frozen river for her to be rescued from!
ReplyDeleteJohn I'm sorry, damn foxes.
ReplyDeleteHope hughie can become a good protective big brother to them.

Hi..

Oh God foxes keep coming back if they think the pickings are easy and I'm afraid to say it's not just at night. My friend had one goose taken, one killed and one mortally wounded within half an hour of letting them out one morning last month. Looks like you 're going to have to "Fort Knox" the place if at all possible.. Golly I wouldn't know where to begin.
ReplyDeleteKeeping fingers and toes crossed that Foxy Loxy goes away. Have you a shotgun?
my sympathies. the turkeys are OK? The predator will keep coming, fortify.
ReplyDeleteMakes you wanna sit up all night with a gun. The owl will no longer attack my birds. That's all I will say about that.

I agree randy, my friend Geoff has a gun......!

ReplyDeleteOh gawd, I have visions of Calamity Jane. Thought I'd just get that one in, before the darkly mysterious "Bel Ami" did...
