I’ve done self care things today and took an annual leave day from work
I walked over to the ponies and breathed up their soft noses for an age.
They smell of straw and oats and earth and have trusting soft brown eyes.
I’ve video messaged my German friend over coffee
And ate Marks & Spencer tomato soup with garlic bread in front of the fire. and watched documentaries on film directors
I walked the dogs and completed housework and soaked my feel in a washing up bowl filled with incredibly hot water and Epsom salts.
And it’s been a nice day
A very nice day indeed! I would love to make friends with such lovely ponies too.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad they are back , so are my neighbours
DeleteThat sounds like my sort of day. Busy doing nothing. Beats working! xx
ReplyDeleteI retired officially in 2018
DeleteI’ve never been so busy
That sounds like the perfect low key day off. Time to just breathe and appreciate the simple things in life. Oh, having the time to do just that! Good for you in every sense of the word.
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz xx
DeleteI LUV pony noses. I am an old lady and if I close my eyes, I can still smell pony nose smell from my love of horses from years back. Daughter says she can too. That and baby kitten smell.
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I love the most , the peaceful mutual breathing
DeleteJust a slice of heaven you created and enjoyed, ‘just a perfect day’ (Lou Reed). Jan in Castle Gresley

DeleteA very nice day for you, indeed! Do you have a list of lovely things to do when you have the odd 20 minutes or more? It helps!
ReplyDeleteOur 18 hours of rain yesterday washed away and melted the last of the snow and ice. At last!
Hugs!
Good idea babs
DeleteGetting a taste of spring here and I have a couple of windows open for fresh air. It’s a mood brightener, for sure. We still have some weeks of winter left. Enjoy your day!
