Chuckle

January has left with a bit of whimper and for me it’s been good riddance to bad rubbish.
I still feel lethargic and a little “ out of sorts” but already I can feel the afternoons  are lighter just a little bit longer.
There is hope in the air.
I am on my last night of three, and my recent  night at the cinema before nights reminded me that I was human and benefitted for a change of scene.
Monday is the village Pub quiz and I’ve arranged to go with affable despot Jason.
And the velvet voiced Linda has given me the most gentle of kicks-the-arse to sort of a Trelawnyd Productions meeting the week after next.
The older you get, the closer physical wellness affects psychological wellness. This, for me is compounded by the time of year and social isolation .
Everything is enmeshed and feels somewhat complicated.
My head and thinking is fuzzy
It’s not rocket science ,
Just one step in front of the other, and start ticking the mental list off.

I know I’m coming out of “ something”
Whatever something is ?
For when I helped a patient to stand up and he fearfully held me close grabbing my uniform I relaxed the tension in the moment by reminding him “ we are not engaged as yet” and that he had to buy me a gin and tonic first before I would even think about it”

My head wants and needs to laugh
In January I think everyone’s do

  1. Whew! I’m so pleased to hear you’re improving John. Alarm bells were ringing! The depths of winter, bugs and a heavy work schedule will all have added up, you poor old trout! We’re just finishing a pretty tough month of grand-parenting duties and even though it’s summer here, it’s left me flat. Hope tomorrow is better, and you’re up to the shenanigans of a village quiz night!

  3. A laugh, a warm hug, a moment of diversion, an escape into the theater, along with feeling physically better, we need that, you need that. If there are any comedy movies in the theater, go see a silly one. Hugs from afar.

  4. Dating hospice patients is distasteful - unless of course you are trying to secure generous mentions in their wills.

So glad things are looking better for you!
Loved your reply to the patient who needed support!
Hope you or Affable Jason know the pub quiz answers and hope our ice (lower case) starts melting tomorrow and Tuesday.

    Hugs!

That surely put a smile on my face. :). I'm knee deep in snow here in coastal NC. Wondering when I'll be able to get out of my driveway. It's on a small incline of a hill. I prepared for the storm, so I'm good for a while. No worries there. We all get in a funk every now and then. Sometimes the world spins faster than we can keep up, or so it goes with me. I've followed your blogs for years now. No doubt, those bra straps will be pulled up and put at attention, and all is well in the world. Hope you are feeling better soon. Sending love, Galestorm

  7. When my Mom was in the nursing home, one of her nurses was an older, chubby British guy (who I was convinced was gay) with a great sense of humour. He could always jolly her along to do things she was supposed to do (but didn't want to, from contrariness). She absolutely adored him. And of course, he always reminded me of you from your stories.
