Thank You Mark

Well sometimes you are moved by things out of the blue. For those that don’t know I tend to show some blogs on my Facebook page as well as my blogger pager.

Since last Thursday I haven’t felt like posting anything much on either forum, but certainly Facebook has been devoid of conversation , so much so that a follower from the village called mark who I haven’t met, posted his concern for my absence on the village website

Hi just had this sent to the crown and haven’t a contact for John.

This is probably a big overstep but is/has someone checked on blogger John Gray. It's not like him to not post. If all is under control then feel free to tell me to bugger off. Sorry but couldn't find another public page in the area. From a concerned reader.

This makes me really appreciate the type of community that we live in, someone notices that someone else's behavior or habit has changed, so they get concerned and check on them. This is what a community is about. Very thoughtful of Mark, and I hope that you are back to your usual blogging self soon John.😊.

I’m very touched by the show of concern.
I’ve not been well for over 10 days , and my sugars are too high, . I’m at work tonight, and am so so ……subsequently I’ve not blogged recently

  2. And who says social media doesn't create "real" community? This demonstrates otherwise!

Thanks for reaching out to John, Mark. Most of us are way too far away by lots of land, oceans or other bodies of water, time zones, or hemispheres so couldn't pop in to check on him and ease our concerns. Community at its best!
John, should you be at work???

    Hugs!

  4. Knowing that people care, and are concerned, is a really lovely part of country life. Trelawnyd comes up trumps!

  5. I agree with Barbara Anne, should you be going into work? I think you've done your bit over the years, so deserve to take a genuine sick day or two off.
Your community cares, both the Trelawnyd one and the big wide world one. Take care. Sending hugs. xx

  8. Glad that your village and online community have reached out to check on you. Seems like you have barely have had the energy to manage even the basic things and I am so sorry you are having to go in to work while still so unwell. The diabetes must complicate most things.

    Hope you get better soon.

  9. I'll probably sound unkind but after twenty years plus of blogging, I've learnt to give people space when they pause or even stop posting. I used to sometimes make personal contact to ensure people were ok, but unless I have a reason to think they aren't, I don't do that now. There is a daily poster who hasn't posted for a few days, but I know she was thinking about stopping, and she has a husband, so I'm sure she is fine.

  12. That is so caring. I know that my 85+yr old neighbour checks my light/curtains every day to make sure I'm up and about, and it is a comforting feeling.
