Auditors

The rise of the on line auditor is one of the sadder aspects of the net. Some Middle aged men with a history of little life purpose, isolation and anger problems have carved themselves out a niche by exploiting the law by filming public companies with camera and drones. Of course, they know the law doesn’t stop such activity as long as it takes place in a public area , but all they want is the filmed tension between company staff and perpetrators such as Mark Evans, who is quick to insult and to goad as long as it gives him a video which will be adored and hated in equal measure.

Blogland has its fair share of Mark Evan’s. Angry people whose life has been passed by….. People who feel that they should have more importance than they deserve, who audit other’s writings desperate in the need to find some perceived discrepancy . I suspect the nature of blogs mean that there are more women then men that feature here.

Tired, frustrated, small minded …I could go on, but I won’t, suffice to say that I loved one unflappable security guard’s response to a particularly rude and nasty tirade by Mr Evans

The security guard turned to a colleague and laughed “ He’s a prime example why prostitutes shouldn’t marry” he quipped

  1. Sadly, there will always be people who think they know better than you what you should/shouldn't do, think, feel or say. I don't think they've grasped the concept of "walk a mile in my shoes". xx

Terry Pratchett describes The Auditors of Reality brilliantly in his Discworld novel, Hogfather.

No manners, no sense of honour, no discretion - the angry bitter morons who know their rights but accept no responsibility in return.
These people are sad souls, jealous of people better than themselves, and always looking for someone else to blame for anything and everything.
I always refer back to an internationally famous model with a long and rewarding career when asked about these inadequate souls.
"I travel the world, meet interesting people and work with famous names at the top of their game. I have made a lot of money over many years. And yet the keyboard warriors who never even leave their bedrooms think they can tell me what to do and how to do it. And the saddest thing is they have no idea how stupid and pitiful this makes them look"

How pathetic! My hat’s off to the security guard; I could not have remained calm and professional as he did.

It is sad when folks feel all they have to contribute is their own opinion.
What a brilliant reply from the security guard!

    Hugs!

  7. It's sad that this is the only way this man can figure out how to interact with other people.

  8. Previously I had never heard the term "on line auditor" and I still don't really understand what it means. I typed the term into Google... "An online auditor, also known as a remote or virtual auditor, is a professional who reviews and evaluates digital records, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and security without being physically present at the auditee's location. This role is essential for modern businesses operating online."

    1. No YP auditors are troublemakers that know just one aspect of the law ( ie it is legal to film in a. Public place) something most people don’t know and therefore will argue the toss about

    2. The audit aspect is secondary and irrelevant

  9. Troublemakers: I choose to ignore them, unless they cross the line with me and/or my space.
Brilliant response from the security guard.

  10. Not exactly a real world problem, but you do keep us updated on these twists and turns of social media issues. Like ''streaming'' a few weeks ago--meaning live-streaming as opposed to watching TV at one's convenience; this isn't checking one's accounts by an outside professional.

I am a frequent writer of comments to our major newspaper and they have a slash and burn approach….the comment will be rejected if it doesn’t fit into their algorithm..it happens often of course but what is annoying is that their journalists can write the same opinion in an article that is that is published . It make me furious and and amused at
the same time. Blog on ,you will never be cancelled John . Those that ‘audit’ you should expect no mercy!

  14. People may not be familiar with this—here’s part of the Wikipedia article:

    “ First Amendment audit”

First Amendment auditing is a primarily American social movement that involves photographing or filming in a public space.
It is often categorized by its practitioners, known as auditors,
as activism and citizen journalism that tests constitutional rights—
in particular the right to photograph and video record in a public space, a right normally covered by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Auditors have tended to film or photograph government buildings, equipment, and access control points, as well as any personnel present.”
