Gifts

I’ve been on a study day for half the day and shopped the rest. I bought bits and pieces for the Show’s raffle prize - a Christmas hamper and then purchased a light up Father Christmas for a second prize. The cardboard cottages which house my family gifts  needed a clean and a dry after Weaver had weed on the table which featured them. Each one of my family will get a selection of small tiny gifts then a certificate of donation to a charity which I hope is close to their heart.

It’s stormy today ,,wild and stormy.

  1. Trust Weaver to get in on the act, that cat is incorrigible. :-)

    1. I squirted her with fabreese today when she squatted on the fire mat

    2. I used to use a spray bottle of water when my cats scratched the furniture. Might be worth a try - a bit gentler than Febrese! I keep thinking she's like a stroppy teenager, testing you. "Do you still love me, even though I shit on the bed?" xx

    4. When one of our 3 kittens (a female) continued to pee wherever she chose despite being 5 months old and having 3 litter boxes in the house, we finally surrendered her for adoption as enough was enough.

  2. Well, you have several anecdotes, thanks to Weaver! She's certainly a character (that's the polite way of saying she's a little sh*t!) I hope the boxes don't smell of cat wee.
BTW, I love that kettle. xx

  3. Why does Weaver pee and poop wherever she pleases? You have much more patience than I do.

    1. I don’t know if I’m honest, the cat litter box is clean and she can go outside if she wants

    2. Sound like Weaver has anxiety problems, and possibly a urinary/bladder problem. Please do not spray her with Fabreeze, she will lick her fur and it could make her ill. Have you tried getting veterinary advice for her problem?
I feel so sorry for her, she went through a rough time as a kitten.
      Jean.

    3. It was a joke. I have some plug ins to deal with anxiety which I believe is her main problem
Her anxiety showing by her aggressive behaviour

Great gift prizes and I join HH's hope that the family gift boxes don't stink! I suppose all gifts and boxes will now be kept in a closed cabinet or closet?

    Hugs!

THC is harmful to cats, even in small amounts. Weaver should have a thorough assessment by a veterinarian to rule out possible urinary conditions which may be causing Weaver to urinate in places other than the litter box or outside.

Weaver needs to be assessed by a veterinarian. Didn't Weaver have some sort of complication when she was spayed?

    7. Yes ,I get your much laboured point , see below

  6. You're the *best* gift giver. Too bad about the peed upon cottages, I loved that idea. I hope they don't reek? Weaver is pretty awful, isn't she---but then used to be, Roger was a culprit instead. Your naughty fur-kids.

  8. I think you will have to have a talk with Weaver about smoking weed in the cottage. At least he/she shouldn't leave the evidence lying around.

Weaver could be suffering from feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) or urethral plugs or diabetes or a recurrent UTI or bladder stones or thyroid problems.

Weaver isn't a problem. Weaver has a problem and needs to be thoroughly assessed by a veterinarian, one which specializes in small animals as opposed to a large animal practice.

I'd go with a water spray for Weaver. It worked with our two and now I only need to pick it up or hiss at them and they!ll saunter off as if wrecking the furniture is furthest from their mind. I'd also get Weaver checked at the vet.
I love your blog, it with a few others are part of my morning routine though I rarely comment.

  16. When I and my dog moved in with my man and his kitty, kitty started peeing inappropriately. He was going to have her put to sleep, but I couldn't be the cause of that. I did some research and after ruling out a UTI we got her put on kitty Prozac. The inappropriate peeing stopped immediately.

Although, I agree that it doesn't sound like a particular irritation that is bothering Weaver, so much as her particular disposition.
