Being an old bitch, Mary has bald patches on her back and flanks.
Subsequently Trendy Carol being Trendy Carol has bought her a succession of knitted coats this autumn.
Her latest is an armless cardigan of many colours
And Mary is warm but overdressed in a village full of sheepdogs and hearth mutts.
Last night on our last walk Mary wouldn’t amble along.
She staggered
And stopped still, with her head down and tail droopy
I cajoled her and petted her but she stood in the rain
Stock still and miserable
So I lifted her up and with her head under my chin, me and Roger worriedly ran for home.
I suspected a stroke
Or epilepsy
Or sudden illness
And in the light of the fire
I tearfully gave the unhappy girl the once over.
After a couple of minutes I finally sussed it.
Somehow she the old gal had got her back leg jammed in her front leg cardigan arm hole.

Eu gravei o vídeo seguindo as regras do professor e tirei 1 no vídeo, você não seguiu as regras, gravou um vídeo de 16 minutos e tirou 10 no trabalho do vídeo, quer dizer eu sigo as regras e não ganho nada, você não segue as regras e ganha um 10?

Quer saber de uma coisa pode registrar outro boletim de ocorrência contra mim. Eu não tenho medo da polícia. A minha casa fica do lado de uma boca de fumo, a polícia só aparece aqui na minha rua para buscar o arrego.

DeleteOh Mary! This story reminded me of a beloved show on Canadian radio called the Vinyl Cafe which included stories about a family and their dog Arthur. ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Mary is ok. I had something similar with my dog Beano, half way across the road he seemed to be struggling. He's about 15 years old so I assumed the worst. When we reached the other side of the road I realised he'd got some plastic covered garden wire caught round his legs.

ReplyDeleteAnimals! My old cat Annabelle scared me seriously when one morning she kept limping and staggering. After disasterizing for a bit, I found she'd got two front claws crossed! One snip and she was cured! I needed a little lie down.

ReplyDeleteDear Mary, she is similar in age to my Mo. Who now has vestibular disease seizures, poor mite. Anyway I hope you continue to dress Mary warmly, she and Mo have years ahead of them, I hope. Mo is a densely double coated pug, prob doesn't need a sweater, but being a pug, he is pleased to dress up. Hugs to you and Mary---and dear helpful Trendy Carol.

I could visualize you with tears flowing examining her. Yes, our animals may well be the death of us. I just got up and gave Annie a big hug and she looked at me with a look that read "What? BTW since you are up get me a treat".

ReplyDeleteLove the colourful coat sans Trendy Carol; my heart was in my mouth reading this I am so glad it was just a case of leg in wrong hole! I agree our animals will be the death of us my young Aggie (calico) has a bad eye at the moment, I suspect a claw from her brother when playing but I am bathing it and will take her to the vet if needs be.

ReplyDeleteThose were terrifying moments for you, hurrying for home. With a happy conclusion, thank goodness. I had stress with my 14 year old pup this week, he had general anesthesia to have 4 teeth pulled. At his age anesthesia can be dangerous but all is well, my best friend is home and happy.
ReplyDeleteOh Lordy! I was so concerned I read the whole piece too quickly, lost the thread and had to calm myself down before I read it again. You would've been a thousand times worse. Prescription : Gin, Dosage : Large. Repeat as needed.

We have trouble walking on two feet, poor Mary doing it all on four. Glad it turned out well for her. Both my son in law and I got scammed yesterday. I think his from someone trying to give him a better phone plan will get resolved. Mine, with a repair service, I think I will be out $200. Then for a nice ending, my daughter made a quick trip to buy dog food and a couple other bits and when she went to pay, she had brought a credit card that she thought she had cut up, by accidend. Of course it didn’t go through, so she told the cashier she would just nip home and get the right card, when the man behind her said no, I've got it. She said no but thanks for the offer, but he handed the cashier his card. My daughter said, let me transfer the money to you but he said no, my pleasure and walked away. Her bill was $25. Still some ver nice people in this world.
ReplyDeleteOMG my heart, when I read this! Poor Mary, and poor you, thinking she'd had a stroke. The many cats my Hubs and I had over the years gave us frights for sure. We have been cat-less for about 3 years now and while we are missing the loving companionship at times, we don't miss the work, mess and worry.

ReplyDeleteThese mature pups need to make us worry, don’t they? Years ago I let my black poodle out into the fenced yard at night. Black dogs are nearly invisible in dim lit backyards. Suddenly I heard her doing a scared bark. Went out and found her. Somehow she’d walked into a metal tomato cage that was lying on the ground and was trapped. It took a few minutes to get her free but she was okay.
