"Hope is the thing with feathers!" and there's always room for hope. Ta, John! We're elated by the results of the Virginia mid-term elections and there is now reason for hope here!
He sure has 'hottie' looks as well as making most appealing promises. As long as he holds onto the latter I'll cheer him on - and keeping the former would be v.nice too.
So - finally it looks as if the ship may be turning back to heart and inclusivity, and turning back for the better; to finally have signs of hope and positivity for America at this moment has to be a good sign. 24 hours may be a long time in politics, but if nothing else these Democrat victories are signs of the real heart of America starting to show itself again. Fingers crossed for something better than now.
Love him. Love how inclusive he is. So many elections Tuesday flipped back toward good ideas put forth w/kindness, including in my rabidly conservative little town. Gives me hope.
A good result,he seems a fine young man,and a socialist too. Hurrah. I found out yesterday his mother is Mira Nair, the film director. I remember seeing Salaam Bombay back in the day, grand film. Carole R.
OMG my inner child and my adult self are celebrating the democrats' wins! We have hope for the first time since last year, that this SHITHOLE of a government will be able to recover from the ransacking of our values and beliefs by the spurned toddlers with power. I am more than cautiously optimistic.
Was so pleased to hear that result this am and appalled to read some of the comments on the cesspool that was Twitter
ReplyDeleteI’ve only heard good about the man , and researching him , I must say I’m impressed
DeleteThose of us who yearn for some glimmer of hope on the horizon thank you for your kind thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHe’s a wonderfully polite, yet dynamic orator

DeleteGood on NYC! We've also had a positive result here in CA. as prop. 50 has passed. We need to fight fire with fire, dang it!
ReplyDeleteDemocrats really swept this election. I feel so hopeful!
ReplyDeleteNYC will lead much needed positive change.
ReplyDeleteAll your lady readers seem very positive, lets hope they all think the same in a year's time.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!! Albany, GA USA
DeleteYep, it's all poops and giggles till someone giggles and poops, a year should do it. ;) Discernment will be the word of the year. Jen
DeleteI hear that he wants to raise taxes in 'White Neighbourhoods'. I don't think he should be bringing 'race' into his plans.

ReplyDeleteDidn't know that about his mum (Yes, I saw 'Salaam Bombay' on the 'big screen' and liked it a lot). Adds to his being most 'interesting'.

ReplyDeleteI don't know much about US politics, but it does seem like the adults have finally entered the room. xx
ReplyDeleteVery exciting and hopeful moment for us.
ReplyDeleteA catalyst for Change.
ReplyDeleteMy son lives in NY, this is such good news!
ReplyDeletePince Harry is visiting the war veterans at the hospital around the corner from me today. He isn’t all bad. Gigi
ReplyDeleteHe brings hope.
ReplyDeletePlease, please cite examples of socialism working. Mandana’s family is wealthy, his wife’s family has even more money. People!
ReplyDeleteDemocratic socialism is practiced by Sweden, Norway, Denmark, some forms in Finland, Canada, New Zealand.
DeleteCanada is a constitutional monarchy with universal healthcare. Hardly socialist.
DeleteHow’s that working lately in Sweden?? Asking for a friend. Ever heard of the Foxtrot gang?
