The autumn of 2018 wasn’t a happy time for me but Facebook did remind me of one lovely memory
Me and Mary looking at the view across the valley from the top of the Gop
It was cold and I had wrapped her in my jacket
They break your heart don’t they just?

Yes, they certainly do xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet memory and a charming photo of you and a much younger Mary! How kind of you to share the warmth of your jacket, but that's who you are and what you do, John.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
What a sweetheart she was. I remember her and how much she loved you.
ReplyDeleteShe still does xx
DeleteI did not mean she doesn't love you still, it is just that you mention the twins so often, the doggies not so much.
Delete"I bid you beware Of giving your heart to a dog to tear."
ReplyDelete(Mary is about 10, isn't she? )
She’s approaching 12
Deletethats my favourite picture from your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes they certainly break your heart, but they fill it with so much love, too. xx
ReplyDeleteEvery moment we share with our furry kids is to cherish. I love the photo.
ReplyDeletethe pictures of your pets heals my heart. You have come such a long way. Happy days ahead.
ReplyDeleteBun
The photo of you and Mary is perfect. Yes, they break our hearts and give us so much love before it is their time to leave.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do. Wonderful photo.
ReplyDeleteBilly has lots of friends here, and we keep hearing of ones that have left us. It's all very sad, and of course we often don't see their owners ever again. No dog; no daily walks.
ReplyDeleteA sweet memory of you together. Yes they do hold our hearts forever.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, lovely photo of one of those tiny special memories that fill your heart. Thank you, John.
ReplyDeleteShe does look windswept..and happy
ReplyDeleteI remember that beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely photo, you look so deep in thought. Every time I lose a dog I say No more! But there we go again. I had a scary thought that if my present dog lives her lifespan, I'll be 80 when she goes!! Will I have more dogs, I think I'll adopt the older ones who want a quiet retirement
ReplyDeleteThe heartbreak is worth it, though.
ReplyDeleteThey're so addictive - pets DO break one's heart, yet when they're gone we just keep going back for more - and still more. - prb'ly 'cos we recognise how they immensely enrich one's own life, and they don't even know it (one assumes).
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful girl. Carole R
ReplyDeleteI love to think that they are there for our broken hearts.
ReplyDeleteI am 84, my dog is 11. I hope I go first. My daughter will take my dog if I go first. I don’t think I could go on without her. She is everything to me, my reason to get up in the morning. That is a very nice photo of you and Mary. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThey do break your heart, and I sometimes wonder why I keep going back for more...but I guess it is because of the joy and love they give.
ReplyDeleteOf course we do
DeleteOh my goodness what a great photo. I'm remembering my Bella dog - died a year ago this month, somehow we survive it when they have to go, perhaps because in so many ways they stay in our hearts and minds.

My saving grace is that all of my lovely dogs morph into each other
DeleteFacebook Memories breaks my heart over and over showing me photos of us out and about with the dogs. Mary is such a special girl, even more so now that she is older and wiser.
ReplyDeleteYes. They often catch u unawares
DeleteSweet pet!
