Ikea

One plastic plant in plastic pot
One pair of green kitchen scissors ,
One garlic grater
Two rattan mats ( small)
One rattan mat ( large)
Two spotty plates with elevated rims
One useless plastic box

On reflection I was somewhat reserved in my spending

  3. It's amazing how much crap we can buy in one store. At least you didn't come home with a couple of wardrobes! xx

  4. Your Swedish meatball meal is different than here. We get mashed potatoes with our gravy...and where is your lingonberry jam?

You were very sensible. I do love that store, but our nearest one is 2 hours away. I love their wooden kitchen utensils.

Can you add pics of what you bought, I can't imagine spotted plates? And what are rattan mats for?

  6. Ikea is like Costco, dangerous to go to because you so often leave with things you don't need:)

That is restrained spending! Hope you find uses for your several purchases. I sometimes like IKEA fabrics but never ever buy their furniture as their wood is too new to be lasting. Old growth wood and furniture lasts forever ... baring fire, of course.
Did the family like their share of the meatballs?!

    Hugs!

    2. What a nice outing for the two of you!
The nearest IKEA to us is nearly 2 hours away and we've inherited all the furniture we're likely to ever need.

      Hugs!

  8. I have a dear friend who is not allowed in IKEA without adult supervision, she had to rent a truck to haul it all home the last time she went alone. I love the place.

Apart from the meatballs and chips, and the fun of wandering the store, was it worth the drive? Can we have a picture of your purchases? I have a long list of stuff I need to get from IKEA, don’t you just love the place. Jan in Castle Gresley

  10. I always windup buying the frozen meatball meal combo. My sons seem to know when they are in the freezer and just happen to appear for supper.

  11. Yes, you did well, John! IKEA can be a veritable den of temptation.

  12. IKEA is two hours drive from here, so I'm not tempted. But I have several Allen wrenches.

Sounds like a fun day for you and your sister. I think the most expensive thing I have purchased at IKEA was a butcher block countertop. It was fantastic - highly recommend!
