I needed to go out for lunch
I’ve worked 60 hours in the past six days
I met my old counselling student friend Donna at the Pen-y-Bryn in Colwyn Bay and her Scottish chutzpah and wisecracking energy was just what I needed today.
She gave me lots of ideas for my counselling path as she is living her dream of going self employed and I loved the boost she gave me.
We’ve been fellow “counsellors”for over three years now
Weaver has just walked in after over 24 hours away to God knows where
She frowned when she saw us collectively and spat out a flat field mouse with considerable contempt before she stalked very slowly through the living room and walked upstairs to bed like Joan Crawford on acid
She’s a fucking monster
Weaver Pat would be amused at her namesake’s antisocial bent

Weaver sounds charming. So does Donna, but not sarcastically.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice of Donna to give you some advice along with a good dose of humour. I miss my late Scottish husband’s humour and the laughs I got every day, he was so funny. Good girl Weaver, bringing in treats for daddy. She owns you now. Gigi
ReplyDeleteWeaver scares me ... 😱
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my world
DeleteLOL
DeleteWeaver reminds me of a stroppy teenager. One who knows it all and just about tolerates all those others who know absolutely NOTHING!
ReplyDeleteDonna seems like just the sort of friend/mentor you need. Friendliness, humour, energy and a soundboard. She has a look of your sister, Janet. I think it's the smile! xx
I have a sneaking admiration for Weaver. She knows her own mind, and what you are there to provide!
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to meet Donna and how wonderful that you two give each other psychic boosts in addition to enjoying lunch together at that scenic site.
ReplyDeleteYes, hope Weaver Pat can intervene to help her namesake be more sociable.
Have just made an egg, cheese, bacon, broccoli, onion frittata. Want the recipe?
Hugs!
I loved your description of Weaver's entrance and exit, scorn dripping from her like ivy.
ReplyDeleteDonna sounds like a good friend. Her sense of humor makes her wonderful company.
ReplyDeleteYou infer she is going to go into private practice as a counsellor. The two of you should consider joining forces!
Donna sounds like a valuable friend to have forsomeone just getting his feet under him in a whole new field. Weaver? I would be worried about sleeping with her lurking about.
ReplyDeleteI agree with HH that Donna looks a little like your sister and , I never thought about this when Pat was alive, but she looked a bit like Joan Crawford!
ReplyDeleteOur Freddie used to bring them in alive, then let them loose for us to catch.
ReplyDelete"Joan Crawford on acid" LOL ROTFLMAO
ReplyDeleteI'm sad Weaver is missing the affection and cuddles she could have if she wasn't being so damn difficult. I reckon a series of nights must be easier than just a couple and then back to days. Am I right? (Total ignorance here, as I've never done an overnight job.)
ReplyDeleteSorry ... Have you got lots of committed acts for the upcoming Show? The more participants, the more audience in the form of family and friends, I was thinking.
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to spend time with someone like Donna who can lift the spirits and confidence.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you can have warmth and cuddles with the other three as Weaver does not seem ever likely to share them with anyone. That wonderful closeness is the best thing for me with a pet.
Be thankful that Weaver's present was a mouse not a bird. While I was looking after my " grandcat" he bought 2 birds in.......feathers everywhere!! They are not easy to vacuum up either!
ReplyDeleteDonna seems like a good friend to have, you could work together possibly.
ReplyDeleteWeaver really is the stroppy, unreachable teenager, she may evolve into a loving cat someday, hoping so.
That is a terrific photo of Donna. Strong, good hearted and a friend who is both fun and able to kick you in the right spot. Just the sort of mate we all need.
ReplyDeleteThe kittens just show how different siblings can be. Two legged or four. Weaver is clearly a cat who walks on her own; Kipling would have loved her! Never mind being Joan Crawford incarnate, although the tought of that made me laugh. So who is Bun. Julie Andrews?
Never a dull evening at the Casa,
ReplyDeleteMy huntress does not bring us her game silently. She announces it in her hunting voice. Loudly. At which point I always say, "Oh god, no."
ReplyDeleteWeaver is not a monster, it's just how you perceive her. She had a troubled start what with her operation. She's just got a different personality to Bun. Had she been cuddled more from a very early age , she may have been more affectionate. Cats do have different personalities, but that sweet baby is not a .monster, perhaps she just needs counselling..😄
ReplyDeleteChill xxx
DeleteIt was meant to be taken light heartedly, I was just being Team Weaver, and backing up a possibly troubled teen, hence the smiley face at the end.
DeleteYou do realise that Weaver is bringing you gifts because she loves you. 😺😸🐈⬛
ReplyDeleteShe’s doesn’t
DeleteI'm assuming you mean "monster" as a compliment. :)
ReplyDeleteHummm
