Autumn is here, right on time. It’s rained on and off for most of the day and the grass of my lawn and the pasture in the pony field has gratefully devoured the moisture, like the cats do after too much dry food. The dry summer has crisped the leaves of the Churchyard trees, and already many are falling, blowing in the strong westerly winds whisking over the hills beyond the Felin.
Trelawnyd is bracing itself for Autumn, and then winter, I think.
I know I am
I’m looking forward to the colder days, jumpers with holes in, comfort food and Bake Off.
I will be going to Spanish for Beginners night class and am thinking of organising a book club
The twins have never seen snow
Black cats surrounded by white look like cartoon animals I always think.
Dirty paw prints everywhere
Everything moves on
Ah, yes, AUTUMN!!!! I'm in a long sleeve cotton tee with sweatpants this morning as it's too chilly for lighter wear. Have changed the calendars, too. Hurray!!
ReplyDeleteOur cats didn't go out in the snow for more than three minutes. Step, raise and shake paw, look offended, repeat a time or two, reenter house at speed.
Methinks as a licensed counselor, you need a few jumpers without holes for client meetings. Okay?
Hugs!
Ah, yes, John - get yourself a beautiful Irish knit sweater, zippered or not, that you can pull off before you dribble breakfast on it. It will look great, keep you warm, and never goes out of style. I have one I bought in Ireland way back in 2010 and I still love it. I just wore it for the first time last week, as temps were downright chilly here in Michigan. Autumn always comes to us in the last two weeks of August.
ReplyDeleteYour Fall into winter sounds lovely, so cozy. Did you ever get the solar panels and heat pumps installed? It's a warm/hot sunny summer day here. Summer usually lasts til November, which is good bec the winters are so dark and cold.
ReplyDeleteLove the mental image of black cats on white snow! Maybe this year they will go out and explore it.

Black cats on white snow. Please share the photo as soon as you take it. I could use a good cartoon.
ReplyDeleteAutumn here too, although not much rain, just some intermittent soft mizzle. Hopefully enough to revive my yellowing, droopy rhododendrons.
ReplyDeleteRain on and off here today and a few claps of thunder, with really heavy rain for about 5 mins. I'm not looking forward to the colder months, in fact I dread them more and more each year. Thicker duvet going on the bed next time I change the bedding, methinks! xx
