Other News answering a question…..

 Counselling

I am on hold with this at the moment only because I’m awaiting to be processed for membership for the
NCPS ( The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society)I could practice without membership but Professionally it is not advisable to do so. I have sessional clients already booked with a mental health charity and will start supporting them as soon as I am able.
I have booked my capn’gown , and intend to have my official photograph taken with my family!

Shoulder injury

My physio with his tiny blue shorts has done wonders with my arm weakness. He diagnosed a “ wear and tear” injury where my humerus had “ migrated” up into my shoulder joint, and with the smallest of manipulations in sessions funded by the Welsh Government ( !) my weakness has improved considerably

Eyes

My eye pressures have reduced significantly and the injections will continue for a while πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
My consultant apologised for my unfortunate last session and assured me that a senior doctor will perform the next injection instead of one of the nurses.

Positives

I have planned to meet up with my old friend Tracey from my psychiatric days in York soon, and I am popping over to Sheffield to catch up with Mike, and Bev and Jane and Belami. My next London trip is in October when I will touch base with Nu and see the rave interactive play Every Brilliant Thing with Minnie Driver. This coming week my sister and I will see the Grosvenor Park Outdoor Theatre’s production of Sherlock Holmes ( a hoot) all activities that will lighten the heart but boil the blood of my troll who hates me socialising with the passion Hitler had for English Bulldogs.

Emotionally and physically I have turned another corner. There is more news afoot, so watch this space for further bulletins, but I feel I’ve come through another storm, pretty unscathed , thanks, in part, to you my followers and commentators who have been kind, and supportive and warm.
That goes a long way, when you are most forlorn,
Just before dawn

A great track, fabulous choice, a step back in time so appropriate, thanks for that memory, John.
Yes, you do sound as if you have weathered a storm and turned a corner, and we all rejoice for you. Amazing the effect a pair of tiny blue shorts can have. And as for your dear troll - she is the acid test showing us what jealousy and self inflicted misery can do, and how we all rise above her and it and can both pity and disdain the poor wee soul in equal measure. Go go, go, John Gray!

  14. After such a worrying time, everything is lining up perfectly. I'm impressed you are taking good care of yourself - catching up with good friends, keeping your arts-interest going, working on physical health ... you're an inspiration - I wish I 'had it together' half as well! Yesterday's post, mentioning Weaver in possession of the living room chair, amused me - what a beautiful coat she has. I was thinking of Pat (Weaver) last week, when I heard of the death of another very elderly teacher who had brought gentle wisdom to so many friends. Lives well lived.

  21. All good things, John. You have ridden this storm out well, and it's nice to look forward and not be in survival mode. You've used all of the skills that you've developed in order to navigate what life can throw you, well done. The troll - I see a sad, lonely woman at home at her desk with nothing to do but try to hurt others, because she is so hurt. I imagine you covered that sort of person's psychology in counseling school. Something very bad must have happened to her to make her feel so powerless. I am not condoning her behaviors, I just understand those people more now. (We've got the poster child for that at the helm here in the U.S., God help us all.)

Is the troll maybe a male? I too am thinking bulldog is afoot. Glad you are doing so well. As I get older and being a control freak of myself, I get terrible anxiety when things go wrong, and I mean tiny things, like the remote for my tv stopped working and it had no place to change the battery. After not sleeping most of the night the anxiety got so bad that I had to get up and take half a lorazapan. In the morning I found out the remote is solar powered! Also the battery on my cars key fob died so I used the spare one, then stressed all night thinking that I couldn’t remember how to get to the dealer to get that battery changed. Of course as soon as I started out toward the dealer in the morning I was fine. Now I just wait for lightbulbs up high to burn out. Can’t do ladders anymore. All in all I still do a pretty good job of looking after myself and dog with no help unless I call a professional, for my age. I am glad everything is on the lookup for you John. And what will you call your new dog or will you keep the name it comes with? Gigi
