Chuck

The Life Of Chuck didn’t move me at all.
I thought it would.
The hallucinations of a dying man, trying to make sense of his past and present , you would think , would be an emotional romp.
It wasn’t
I met a friend not known for their heat tolerance
So sitting in cool air con was worth the ten quid ticket price
And we stayed till the end just to confirm what the hell had just happened

Another eye injection tomorrow
Gawd! Fuck! Bollocks!

  1. Well, that's disappointing, about the movie. It's look like it should be good but it's not.
And your eye injections, please tell us how you really feel about them:)
    Hope it goes well.

    1. It was tooconfusing , I feel , the audience spent too long trying to work out what was happening rather than feel the emotion

    2. The consultant spent time and energy and respect explaining the need of the injection , especially as my eye is improving . A necessary evil

Sorry the movie missed the mark but you two were in the cool, so that counts as a plus. Sort of.
Wishing you well with the doctor doing the eye injection tomorrow. Hope you have a ready made meal for tomorrow's supper so you won't need to cook after that injection.

    Hugs!

    1. I liked the short story and I liked the film in bits
But I wasn’t moved, as much as I wanted to be , though the actor playing young chuck Benjamin Pajak was stunning

  4. Some days just don't hit the mark, do they? Still, sitting in the cool air con with a friend has got to be good.
Hope the eye injection goes smoother this time. How long do you have to have them? Not forever I hope. xx

  6. I agree, worth it for the air con. My daughter in law is having nasty eye treatments at the moment. She is a stoic but even she is rattled by them. Hopefully you can find an operative you rate highly and then ask to have them from now on.

  7. I will watch "Life of Chuck" just because Tom Hiddleston is in it, but I understand that reviews of it have been mixed.

  11. Well, I can only say that I hope the eye injection is not too traumatic and that it makes you feel a lot happier once it's finished 😳

  14. My mother had to get eye injections for macular degeneration. They did help very much! But she hardly complained about them. I think at the tail end of her life she was just sort of happy to get any attention she could. Doesn't make me sound too good, does it?

Not sure I could handle eye injections! I’m a 2 time cancer survivor but there’s just something about the eye! Had cataracts removed and multi focal lens’ implanted and that was bad enough. Twilight sleep but felt too aware the second one and knew when they taped my head down or maybe strapped ? in the OR, clamped my eye open and filled it with gel like stuff! Then I said….hey! I think I’m too awake here! I hear you guys talking about going to Raiding Canes for lunch! They reassured me and that’s all I remember! Doc told me later sometimes if you have anesthesia twice close together sometimes that happens! Have you ever heard that? Hope this injection goes better! Kathy

  17. Was thinking of seeing the movie but not too keen now. I had wondered whether it would be quite as good as I imagined anyway.

Hope the eye injection is more bearable this time.

  19. When I first read your post about "Chuck", I had no idea about the movie, then I remembered that I watched the trailer on youtube a while back. Good luck with the eye injection. I would definitely be a basket case if I had to go through something like that.
