I haven’t quite the energy after nights
The morale at work has never been lower
But natural professionalism continues and patients still get wonderful care
I’m so proud of my work guys
So enjoy this
JANET @ JOHN
Story
Sunday night is the Wheel Tappers and Shunters Social Club on tv ( google it because I can’t really explain) a cold beer ( a gift from Mrs Trellis at Christmas wrapped in red serviettes ) a bag of low calorie crisps and all the while Weaver is sitting on her own window ledge dinosaur looking out at the thunderstorm rolling in from the Vale of Clwyd Hills to the South.
Mary has another phantom pregnancy and has disembowelled the reading chair in the kitchen
Roger is sitting watching her with a worried “ what the fuck?” expression
Bun, the last time I saw her , was walking with a sex and the city swagger in the graveyard.
I’m pleased
That’s where Albert used to go
Every day to kill rabbits………
Hey ho
Just what is needed.. classic!
ReplyDeleteNight shifts upset a body.
So does the threat you have hanging over you all. Xx
Isn’t Terry funny
DeleteGently funny x
DeleteTerry Wogan still missed by many.
ReplyDeleteHope things go well.
He was a one off
DeleteI used to love his Janet and John stories on the car radio on my way to work Got the day off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing OK.
I’m not but I’ve lots of friends supporting me
DeleteOh, that was so funny. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all find out soon, one way or another, what is happening. The threat and uncertainty hanging over you all must be terrible. No wonder morale is low.
Time for a cream sherry or a G&T and relax. xx
At least two weeks
DeleteOh squire John
ReplyDeleteKeep your posts vague and safe for you
Don’t emotionally invest in us, we will always be here for you
( and you have the Flower Show to cope with)
Lee
Good idea my friend , I’m exhausted to be honest
DeleteAppreciate the two photos of Weaver!
ReplyDeleteHave a vivid image of Mary disemboweling the chair while Roger looks on, especially his WTF look.
And Bun... looking for rabbits in the graveyard.
Sounds a lovely evening in at the cottage.
Be well, John dear!
No peace, but I like chaos x
DeleteJohn, John, John, dear friend, hospice nurse and counselor,
DeleteI’m sorry you feel so lousy, but you have reason to. So many things have hit you at once. My wish is for you to sleep for 3 days and nights. Night shifts are hard. Your animals are the best for keeping you cheered up. Soon the horses will be waiting to snuggle with you. I hope Wales will come up with a plan and money to support hospice and counselors. I don’t think there’s been another time when they were so needed.
I hope you arm is healing. Chaos is good. I was given a large red water bottle by one of my students that had “Chaos Coordinator” printed on it. I love it! We can share the title.
Please take good care of yourself.
Wales and the crazy world needs you. You have such a gift for making others feel seen and appreciated.
Sending love and joy💙
Carol in Atlanta
My arm is almost healed I want to physio today
DeleteHa ha love your animals they are crazy !! Sorry you’re going through it . We used to have a hug in the office and a cry before going out to do community visits . I do feel for you John and all we want is to care for such a vulnerable group. Like everything in life it will pass but it’s very tough right now . Hugs xxx Bernie
ReplyDeleteI feel I’m going rather mad
DeleteI know how wearying nights can be, especially when the nursing jobs are under threat. May it all come out well for each of you nurses and bravo and brava for you continuing caring for your patients most excellently.
ReplyDeleteWeaver seems to be intently watching for Bun, if not those dinosaurs.
Rest well after a G&T. You deserve one or more!
Hugs!
It feels totally overwhelming
DeleteThis happened to us a few years ago when I was still at work in a hospital clinic. It was a terrible time. We were expected to keep working throughout. We even had to attend 'personal meetings' with our senior manager in the middle of a busy clinic! Coming out of a meeting room, obviously upset, with all the patients watching. We were lucky. We were able to fight them, presenting a case to Trust management that the changes would actually be more expensive rather than saving money. We won. I hope that you and your colleagues can find a similar solution. Are any of you in the RCN or Unite? The RCN helped us with how to present a case etc. I really feel for you all.
ReplyDeleteNot one word from management saying hello
DeleteSadly I am not a bit surprised
DeleteAnd now messages coming but too late
DeleteI remember the "Janet & John" books from when I was at primary school. I often look out for old copies in secondhand book stores or charity shops but I have never seen a single one I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteRemember my twin sister is called Janet
DeleteHang in there John. This is an exhausting time. Whatever gets you thru.
ReplyDeleteCheers boud x
DeleteHang in there! It will work out….it will have to! Here we are fighting insurance for my daughter who has two herniated discs in her neck. She is miserable and I am really getting pissed! Sleep has been miserable and I am frazzled. Then suddenly I just decided fuck it….if she loses her job and insurance we will figure it out. Tired of worrying!!! Hope things work out for the best for you. Kathy
ReplyDeleteMy hope levels are incredibly low, as is my ability to deal with bad management and unthinking comments
DeleteI really miss having a Cat around the house; they're such appealing creatures.
ReplyDeleteHummm weaver is a nazi
DeleteI miss hearing Janet and John. I used to listen on the way to work too and the stories usually finished as I arrived at work in fits of laughter. A good start to the day.
ReplyDeleteGiggling is so infectious
DeleteLike some of the others, I used to hear Janet and John on the way to work.....great fun! Hoping that things will get better for you soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Frances I do agree
DeleteSometimes we feel the universe is against us but somehow we find the energy to get up and keep going.
ReplyDeleteOne foot in front of another
DeleteSometimes we laugh, to keep from crying. Laugh lots my friend.
ReplyDeleteI’m trying
DeleteI am pleased you have the support of friends. It's a difficult sad time for you at the moment . Courage mon vieux. !
ReplyDeleteMy colleagues , staff nurses and support workers have been amazing as have the medics. I’ve not heard from any others 😟
