I’ve not seen the animated first version in full but the live action remake of How To Train Your Dragon seems at first glance , to be a faithful-to-the-original blockbuster which will please a whole new generation of kids.
The story of Hiccup (Mason Thames )-gentle natured son of a brusque Viking king, and his friendship with an adorable night fury dragon called Toothless, ( a cross between my old Albert and a wide eyed puppy / reptile) is pure Lassie Come Home Hollywood
The movie really comes alive when boy and dragon fly together, ( aided by John Powell’s soaringly impressive music ) but I suspect the animated version of fifteen years ago was much better
I haven't seen the new movie, but I loved the animated movie.
ReplyDeleteThat music!! Read the book to my first graders and we all loved it!! I hope you are having a delightful day! Carol in Atlanta
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was "VERY carefully!". This title is new to me so hope to find it on one of the streaming services.
ReplyDeleteAlbert missed his calling!
Hugs!
Yes, I can see a lot of children pestering their parents to take them to see this. And those parents will be comparing it to the original! xx
ReplyDeleteNever saw the old and doubt I’ll see the new. But I love Albert’s impersonation.
ReplyDeleteI've seen all the old..loved them!
ReplyDeleteWe went to see it on Monday. I was surprised to find that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also went to see The Salt Path. It was very slow going and could have been so much better
ReplyDeleteThe animated movies were great and I am sure my grandsons will want to see this new one, too.
ReplyDeleteThe original animated movies are fabulous! Looking forward to catching this one.
ReplyDeleteOMG the original animated story is super cool.
ReplyDeleteFifteen years????!!
XOXO
I love all three of the animated movies in this series. I hope the live-action remake of the first movie is worthy! We shall see. Albert rules and always will!
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on comparing Albert with Toothless! I miss Albert but you gave him a good home and he was beloved.
ReplyDeleteAlbert! lol! I think Mason Thames is so adorable. If he asked me to settle down with him, I would in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I understand the video. Like why are they all wearing headphones? Why the transitions to black and white and back to color. Perhaps I'm too old. We watched another episode of Grantchester this evening. I enjoy it and "All Creatures Great and Small".
ReplyDeleteLoved the animation and will wait for the film to come to television.
ReplyDeleteMaybe cats are really house dragons.
ReplyDeleteNot excited to see the live action version... LOVEd all three of the aniimated movies so have no need for the LiveAction. I wish Disney would stop making them... but i guess as long as they are making money on them... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeletei confess to having seen the animated version and would actually recommend it.... it was worth seeing...... i do have reservations about a live action remake though.... but i'll give it a try, can always turn it off, right? I LOVE the late Albert's toothless impersonation, it's uncanny!!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been living with dementia for quite some time, and for years, I struggled to find lasting relief. Conventional treatments offered limited support, but the symptoms gradually worsened impacting my memory, focus, and daily functioning.
ReplyDeleteOut of both hope and hesitation, I decided to try an herbal treatment program from NaturePath Herbal Clinic. I’ll be honest I was skeptical at first. But around the four-month mark, I started to notice real changes.
My mental clarity began to improve. The confusion and forgetfulness became less overwhelming. I felt more present, more aware and more myself again. It wasn’t a sudden change, but it was steady and noticeable.
For the first time in years, I feel more connected to the world around me. I can engage better with loved ones, sleep more soundly, and face each day with renewed confidence.
The impact mentally, emotionally, and even physically has been truly uplifting.
If you or a loved one is exploring natural approaches for managing dementia, I sincerely encourage you to consider NaturePath Herbal Clinic. It’s been a life changing journey for me, and I’m deeply thankful I gave it a chance.
