This morning I got my grade for my Graduation
I received a MERIT which I was especially proud of.
This afternoon I saw two clients then went to the physio for my first assessment
He prodded and pulled my shoulder and smiled broadly with white teeth
Your humerus is jammed up into your socket joint
Is it ? I squeaked
We’ll soon have that sorted he said sounding like a Welsh Cary Grant.
I could have kissed him
As I left the physio, my brother in law messaged from Portugal
The message was a bit garbled but I worked out he was in hospital and had probably suffered a brain infart
I rang my sister and got the story
And rang my nephews and family with the news.
Both of my nephews will fly out tomorrow and I like the rest of my siblings are on helpless phone watch
I’m glad I can give some advice by phone.
How things can change on a dime
I’ve loved my brother in law as long as I’ve loved my sisters.
63 years all told.
He is well respected
And well loved
And I’m worried
My brother in law on a family holiday in sitges
What an up and down day you've had, dear John! First, accolades on your Merit grade!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your clients were interesting and who knew your humerus could even get jammed into your shoulder joint? Am glad your physio guru is sure it can be sorted out.
I am wishing your brother-in-law well and hope it was a mild CVA so he'll made a good recovery in a short time. Prayers on his behalf, too.
Big hugs, especially today
Thank u babs
DeleteOh, what a bittersweet post, John. I hope your brother-in-law makes a good recovery. A worrying time for all.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, well done for getting a merit. You should be well chuffed. And sounds like your physio has things well in hand, Hopefully, a few sessions and you'll be as good as new. xx
Fingers crossed
DeleteAh, so sorry about your brother in law's sudden illness. I can understand your worry.
ReplyDeleteJust when you should be celebrating your good news, life smacks you in the face.
You deserve a hug x
I need one
DeleteHolding a positive thought for your brother in law and so glad that the family is rallying round. And congratulations on your accomplishment as you wrap up this stage of your studies. I'm wondering if the shoulder person is what we could call a chiropractor? When will you start treatments?

Thank you dearHeart x
DeleteExcellent news about your grade and that your shoulder/arm can be fixed. I hope your much loved BIL will be ok.
ReplyDelete🙏
DeleteSorry to hear about your BiL. Hope it will be all right.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your Merit and good luck with your arm recovery. Glad it can be fixed.
Thank u. 😟🙏🌈
DeleteHe’s a constant in your life
ReplyDeleteI feel your concern
Jesus! just when things were going well
Lee
U understand x
DeleteWell done on the Merit grade!!! Yes, you should be proud!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the physio appointment went well and he'll soon have you sorted.
So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Fingers crossed that it's a minor/very-limited infarct and he recovers with little to no long-lasting issues.
Hugs to you and your sister.
Gives with one hand takes with another
DeleteI recognise your brother-in-law. He's the one on the right so that must be you on the left. You must have shaved your beard off before applying the make-up. I have no idea what a "brain infart" is but I sincerely hope that Tim survives it and makes a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteThank u Neil x
DeleteJust when life sends lollipops, you end the day sucking a lemon instead. Typical the way life kicks you in the teeth when you are all smiles.
ReplyDeleteYour wonderful BiL is going to be OK, these reminders of mortality are sent to try us. And they do.
Get that arm right and take quiet time to revel in that Merit. They are not given out ten a penny, only to people who deserve them. Try not to worry too much. God bless you all through this.
My family has pulled together as families do
DeleteBest wishes to your brother-in-law, I hope everything turns out alright. Congrats on your Merit grade, so well done! Now that I'm a senior, I have my Physio Clinic on speed-dial. I am always running off to them so they can fix some pulled muscle or another. I've been there four times in the past year, for gawd's sake. I hope they fix your injury right up!
ReplyDeleteThank you dearHeart , you are so loyal xx
DeleteHugs

Deletecongratulations for achieving a merit, brilliant news, i hope the physio gets good results, also wishing your brother in law a speedy recovery, thinking of you and your family, from julie xx
ReplyDeleteI’m not in any way an academic so a merit grade is bloody important
DeleteVery well done on the Merit grade [which I had to look up]. And tho the physio's diagnosis is kind of scary, since I am squeamish, how would one's forearm bone be pushed up into the shoulder socket, eeew? And would that not show on xrays? You seem encouraged, that;s what is important.
ReplyDeleteShocking news about your BIL. I hope it is mild--like a stroke?---and he can recover well. Is it terribly hot in Portugal now, could that contribute to the event? I will keep him and you and your family in my healing thoughts.
love
lizzy
I see humerus is the upper arm bonne. But still...
DeleteYes that’s right it’s the connection with the shoulder joint
DeleteMerit grade... that's great!
ReplyDeleteThe new Physio gets the prize for diagnosing and hopefully resolving the issue with your arm. Why is it that it takes 3+ appointments to get it right?
I hope your BIL is in good hands and can get home soon with his health restored.
Congratulations on the terrific grade! It's wonderful. And the hopeful news about your shoulder. But I'm sorry about your brother in law, and hope he comes through this soon and well. That was a rollercoaster of a day.
ReplyDeleteI hope your brother in law recovers quickly. I did hope, just a little, that your brother in law was the one on left. Beautiful makeup!
ReplyDeleteHope the physio puts things to rights. It's not easy getting old, is it?
Hang in there, John. The waiting helplessly is so hard.
ReplyDeleteDamn! Two pieces of good news and one bad one. Best wishes for your BIL's recovery.
ReplyDeleteIt may be why you got your certification this week.
ReplyDeleteOne minute it's all up and smiles and then shitty news that no one wants. I hope your BIL comes through and recovers fully with no lasting effects. Congrats on the Merit ... didn't you do well... Hugs.
