This is my favourite dance song, not that I do a lot of dancing nowadays.
The video has been edited well as you can see.
It always brings a smile to my face
I met my friend Polly for coffee at breakfast time . She is a doctor and a friend I can trust and bizarre as it sounds she gave me a neurological exam whilst we sat in the Bryn Williams cafe window.
She thinks my arm weakness may be a result of muscle damage and suggested I go for an ultrasound .
I’ve emailed my doctor with her suggestions
I've never heard that song but it does sound like an excellent dance song. When I was a young woman I went to bars, a lot, not just to drink, but to dance. I loved the freedom of dancing and I especially loved the freedom of dancing after a couple of drinks. It was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed your friend is right. That would be a huge relief. Take care John.
I wish I could dance, I have no nature rhythm
DeleteBrilliant song (I'd never heard it either) and delightful video clips of well chosen dance scenes. Ta, John!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to what tests your doctor has you scheduled for after your neuro exam in the cafe. Gotta love excellent doctors!
Wishing you well.
Hugs!
And love excellent friends, she drove a long away in a busy schedule to see me
DeleteSweet!
DeleteHugs!
I have always loved watching people dance like this. I have no coordination whatsoever so I am in awe of this talent. You are fortunate to have that friend John. I hope this is the path to your recovery.
ReplyDeleteAmen I am very grateful
DeleteFun video! I hope you can get some answers about your arm soon.
ReplyDeleteThe other videos by the same maker are classics
DeleteCleverly edited video and a real toe tapper.
ReplyDelete👞👠👟
DeleteSome great moves and fancy footwork in the clip.
ReplyDeletePolly's recommendation for an Ultrasound might just solve the mystery and provide the solution.
Thank goodness for good friends.
Yes, I have some crackers, spoke to John ( bel ami) today and Nigel too
DeleteI would liked to have been a good dancer; I'm rubbish!
ReplyDeleteMe too rubbish, but I'd give it a go with you wine laughing joy then a turn or two. We could be better just laughing ourselves silly.
DeleteMe three
DeleteBeautifully edited video! So many familiar dance scenes. Best wishes for a resolution to the arm issue. Take care, John dear.
ReplyDeleteYes the editing is second perfect
DeleteI find myself dancing more these days. Just like in your clip even if it is acting it is joy that brings one to dance. I don't have rythm, but it is getting better.
ReplyDeleteMuscle damage...hmmm, do you remember damaging that muscle or could it be a repetitive motion action that you do...
I have a feeling she is right
DeleteWhat a great video!
ReplyDelete🤗💪🏼🩷🌈🤪
DeleteTwo left feet here, but I do sometimes dance when no-one's watching!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping your friend's diagnosis is correct and can be easily remedied. xx
It made sense to me and I feel better because I have a bigger plan
DeleteDancing brings me total joy, I forget everything just moving and enjoying the music and the moves. I was super shy about getting on the dance floor but some dance classes changed that. I hope your friend’s diagnosis is correct. It sounds entirely feasible. I loved the video. Jean in Winnipeg.
ReplyDeleteIt’s uplifting isn’t it
DeleteI didn't see Theresa May dancing John.
ReplyDeleteHave a look in Trelawnyd , I dance just like her
DeleteLove it!! I don't like dancing myself, but I love watching others dance and the joy it gives. Thanks for posting it 🙂
ReplyDeleteThe suggestion...worth following up.
The more things that can be eliminated the better xx
I loved dancing but had no rhythm , so in my dancing days in the ledmill in the 1990s I hid amongst the crowds when ABBA came on
DeleteA few years back I went to reach for a book next to me…and could not lift my arm. No pain, no known trauma, just i couldn't lift it. Turned out to be a muscle tear near rotator. Some simple exercises to restore function, then some harder ones for strength. Fit as a fiddle now. And PT sooner than later. Take care, John. Kris in Ohio
ReplyDeleteGood advice , polly gave me the contact for physio too
DeleteI was stood talking to a friend on the sidewalk of mainstreet Wadena yesterday when a man walking past said, "I'll play the banjo [he was carrying one] if you two will tapdance."
ReplyDeleteDo you think we did?
I hope so! :)
DeleteI hope so too he fed you the line
DeleteOne of the best things about dancing when I lived in francophone northwestern New Brunswick 45 years ago was that people would get onto the dance floor by themselves ... something you never saw here in Saskatchewan.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing two men dancing together once when I was 18 and thought of how amazing it was and daring, they were not gay , just love dancing
DeleteGreat video Thanks
ReplyDeleteJane
There are three, all similar. By the same video maker, all three different and excellent
DeleteSometimes it is those random suggestions that help us get to the bottom of things. Good luck with that, John. It has got to be frightening and frustrating.
ReplyDeleteA bit of both but great I have a friend “ in the know”
DeleteReally glad to hear a suggestion that helps. You're in my thoughts. Look after yourself. Jxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan
DeleteNothing better than a relaxed diagnosis by a friend who knows you and the unconscious ways you normally move. Good you have passed on her observations. The video is great; there are also some wonderful ones to Uptown Funk, especially one that begins with Astaire and Rogers.......
ReplyDeleteAlso, the compilation of wonderful dancing to the sound track of "Footloose".
DeleteI love this song and frequently crank it up and dance around my house to it! Have a great weekend. Lynn, Pecos, NM, USA
ReplyDeleteYoutooxx
DeleteJohn, I’m no dancer but I love that song and video! I don’t think you can hear it and feel bad. Glad your friend suggested a next step. I want you to feel better soon.
DeleteOops above is from Carol in Atlanta

DeleteOne of my favourites too! Maybe you are too young to remember this, or maybe it was a North American thing, but in the 80s we did aerobics exercise classes to the music of the time. It was the best way to exercise, in my opinion. The music keeps you going.
ReplyDeleteDo you recall that just the day before you noticed the weakness in your arm you had been repotting plants outside? I left a comment at the time (way down on the page) wondering if that might have triggered it. As we get on in age, especially with seasonal activities that we are away from over the winter, we can do things we've "always done" but they have different effects on us, by which I mean bad effects. Anyway, it's just a thought.

OMG! (re above comment). As to the video, it's great but I can't imagine dancing to that tune. Maybe once upon a time but that time has passed.
ReplyDeleteIt is far less worrying I think if your arm weakness can be traced to some physical damage rather than a possible nerve problem. Not easy always to remember what might have caused it and the unknown is unsettling.
ReplyDeleteGreat video and song! I used to love dancing - it makes you feel so good.
I haven't danced in a long time. But I can still run. This morning I ran to the shelter at six thirty. These runs are good for your physical fitness.
ReplyDeleteLove It! Thanks.....needed that x
ReplyDeleteLOVED the fun video - some great icons and iconic movies! How fortunate to see your doctor friend, John. I hope that an ultrasound will be all you need to figure it out, and maybe some PT could help you gain your full strength back.
ReplyDeleteWe had a juke box in one of our shops in
ReplyDeletethe late 70’s when Disco and other great music was popular. The kids all loved it and even my Mum who helped out in the place loved listening to the kids singing along. It was a great time for top hits. The only time I remember dancing was at Friday night jump ups in Grenada and I was pissed. My husband loved to dance, so would dance with anyone willing. I preferred to watch. I hope an ultrasound will give you a clue re your arm . Gigi
I love this video. A perfect couple of minutes of joy.
ReplyDeleteI love those videos. So fun.
ReplyDeleteGlad your friend had some good advice for you. Hope your arm troubles get figured out soon.
Oh, how I used to dance! I will not lie- I was an amazing dancer. I can cook and I could dance. These are two things I will admit to be true.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I so hope that your neurological doctor friend has made the correct diagnosis.
A brilliant compilation, and very addictive watching. I hope your arm issues are sorted soon. xx
