Operation Dog Snot Removal

My ex’s nephew arrives on Saturday morning. Now I know that he won’t be bothered hat the cottage looks like , but I will
After seeing clients I’m racing around with the carpet cleaner,
Fabreeze is my best friend
Leo is an easy guest.
Already I’ve set him homework to see what films he wants to see that are showing within a twenty mile radius and we will make a day of it.

  1. Yes, Leo won't give a toss what state the cottage is, but you'll rest easier knowing everything is spick and span. You're both going to have a great time. xx

Good preparation for your delightful guest Leo! You can relax knowing no snot will catch your eye and cause dismay. Have fun! BTW, you're a most excellent uncle!

    1. I did but I’m having a gin to compensate

    2. Gin!? You should be having a green and purple Kale and blueberry power smoothie, no gin. Tho I believe gin is faster and more effective.

  5. just do what my mother used to do, throw a bedspread or sheet over everything, leave a paint roller and tray out and say ... oh im about to start decorating so excuse the disruption!

    1. I've been known to leave out the vacuum cleaner or the tube of Clorox [bleach] Wipes to imply I was in the midst of cleaning when the guests arrived, no doubt early anyway.

    2. I used to hide any dirty pots in the oven.

I loved the heading of Dog Snot Removal. Reminds me of a time in dog rescue, when a colleague had her Yorkshire Terrier die, and then adopted a St Bernard brought in to rehome. Several weeks later, another St Bernard came in for rehoming - and she adopted that too. After a few months someone had the nerve to ask her how she was getting on with two such large dogs (in a small two bed retirement bungalow!) after living with a tiny Yorkie for 16 years. Her reply was they they were lovely dogs, and perfect to snuggle up to in winter.
But she did get tired of having to get out the stepladder several times a week to clean the ceiling. Of dog snot. And slobber flicked up high. So be grateful you only have the Welsh snot to clean up! Have a wonderful time with Leo. And watch some wonderful films. Bearing in mind you usually learn more, and discuss more, from the films you hated!

  22. I totally get it, people coming over may not care about the state of our home, but we do! Having company will force us to do the cleaning that we don't often do! I usually just "hit the high spots" as my Mom would say. Sounds like a fun weekend with Leo.

  23. I hope you have a brilliant weekend. ❤️ He won't notice if you do it, but perhaps he would if you didn't. 😄
