Post Presentation Ice Cream
Ive given two presentations today and due to the nervous energy in the air Iso need a break. so im in Parisellas cafe on the beach and like one crazy mad bitch im having a scoop of ice cream
fuck diabetes for 4 minutes.
Research in academia is more important than emotion in rigorous subjects like the medical profession but diploma counselling courses I suspect are more sympathetic towards human emotion because that is what you are working with … human fragility and need . I am sure you will have reached the standard .
My bones are telling me you will get at least a credit and yes Academia is the standard, but surely one of the criteria for assessment would have been an ability to empathise . My Grand daughter adores biscotti ice cream, me coffee ice cream ♥️
Well done, John, and yes, you deserved an ice cream treat as a reward for getting your presentations done and over with! Did you have any balloons left to take with you?
Too late for yesterday's balloon post but I thought I'd comment here. There was a balloon release in town last year for kids who had died. A week later I was walking my little dog at the park and watched as a white balloon came bouncing down the sidewalk from the general direction of a local church. The balloon went into a water filled storm drain, through a tunnel in the drain and out again, crossed the street, took a right turn, bounced along to the busy main street and managed to cross it without getting hit by any cars or trucks. It turned left, crossed the street and continued on toward the middle school where I lost sight of it. Gave me chills.
Hi John, ice cream looks delicious. Just remembered you also enjoying Baba Ganoush, well have you tried the Smoked Hummus from Lidl? May I say bloody tasty as an alternative. Jan in Castle Gresley
Coat's, blue sky and ice cream just about how I remember holidays in Britain when I was a girl.. oh and fish and chips out of paper whilst walking along the prom. In my humble opinion ice cream cures all ills of all types...so a thumbs up from me! And yes occasional treats won't kill you.
I have such total lack of control when it comes to ice cream. I cannot buy it in bulk to bring home with me because I will wolf it down with no regards of serving size or time of day until it is all gone. I suffer somewhat with lactose intolerance, so I literally eat myself sick. So, I treat myself to the best ice cream available by the scoop when I am out and about and love every beautiful bite. Because I am worth it.
Ana Dunk, as one lactose intolerant to another, have you tried the Swedish Glace ice-cream? Don't know if you can get it where you are, but if so, give it a try. It's dairy-free and delicious. Vanilla, raspberry or chocolate flavours. My favourite is the raspberry, with vanilla a close second. Have to limit my intake, as I could wolf down a whole tub! xx
Yay ice cream! I don't eat it as often as I'd like (my cholesterol apparently is 'borderline' and I don't want to poke the bear!) but it's such a treat. And I know the presentation went well. Emotion always delivers the message, you know?
Yes, ice cream and coffee-that was me today. Two minutes after I made the purchase I managed to drop the ice cream cone on the front of my red car. Jean in Winnipeg.
Years ago I was walking through downtown after a very bad news meeting, heading back to my office where I had to report out the bad news, when a very handsome and beautifully dressed man handed me 3 purple helium balloons. What a huge lift that was, emotionally not physically (would take more than 3 to lift me!). I often have wondered what his story was.
I vote that 20 days from now, when you post your scores, we all have a small dish of ice cream in your honor! We'll raise our spoons from where ever we are and celebrate you.
I am a type 2 diabetic but have lost weight recently so my sugar levels are up and down Had a few late night hypos but some ice cream sorts me out. I love ice cream so much, it really is the best. Carole R.
You also have to live your life John... Remember fat, protein, and fiber help to mitigate the sugar... So its best to not eat the icecream alone... have some grilled chicken with it or some such thing and drinking water helps as does walking to try to ward off a high sugar spike ... Looks good!!! Hugs! deb
Every now and then a treat is just what you need, and when it's so occasional it's allowed. I hope it all went okay at the presentation. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI won’t know for at least 20 work days . What my client study lacked in research I made up with emotion

Oh gosh, that sounds very reminiscent of the film 'The Red Balloon'.
DeleteExactly! There were so many times I thought for sure it would pop, but it just kept going like it knew where it was supposed to end up.

DeleteThat is a beautiful idea! I’m in!
DeleteCarol in Atlanta
Me, too! Love ice cream but have to have Lactaid ice cream. If only they make Cookies and Cream. Sigh!
DeleteThrow caution to the winds. Ice cream is good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteIce cream makes everything better. A little more insulin, drink some water, walk the dogs. It will be fine.
