No lisping choir in this charming piece by the Metropolitan Orchestra called La Verbena de La Palo
If I look hard in the audience I can almost see myself to the left of the delightful Silvia Sanz Torres.
Little to report today. The weather has changed and it feels cold again.
I’m seeing the doctor on Wednesday and let him make the call if I am fit enough for work. A consultant from the hospital chased me up also, which was reassuring and right, she was happier that I will get reviewed by my own doctor and bless her, apologised for my bad experience in A&E.
I had a letter from college today too, outlying when our graduation will take place and where to get my cap and gown…..Im gutted as my graduation day is the day I go and see the lisping Choir in Madrid
So I won’t be seen getting my certificate ! Janet and Ann had planned to come too
Heyho
I will contact the hire company and will see if I can get another chance to at least get photographed in my college colours……im vain enough to make every photo into Christmas Cards
What a disappointment that your graduation and the tickets to the Lisping Choir in Spain are on the same day. Phooey! Hope someone can Photoshop you into a graduation picture. When he was a teen, DS1 added Elvis to a family photo of us!
ReplyDeleteDelightful music as always so, ta, John.
Hugs!
Could you change your holiday booking? It would be a shame to miss dressing up in cap and gown and showing off to your sisters!
ReplyDeleteI hope your GP finds you fit and well on Wednesday and wondering what all the fuss was about. How is the arm now? Fully functioning, I hope. xx
Oh, what a shame about the clash of dates but, still lots to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the medical stuff x
Such a wonderful thing you have accomplished!! Wish wish you would bring this arc to its proper end with the ceremony! Do think about it. This is something you might regret missing
ReplyDeleteHire the cap and gown, get the picture and then wear it at a family graduation party. Well done!!!! Had to smile at your helping out at A/E regardless of your own concerns. Is it something nurses do? I know I do. I also send a note of thanks if the care received deserves it, despite the chaos, which it usually does. A doctor said the staff need every little ray of light they can get their hands on.
ReplyDeleteGet the photo, celebrate with an adventure,
ReplyDeleteIt IS cold! And will be for a few days if the forecasts are to be believed - but then, the weather is always bad for Easter, it's a tradition. Sorry to hear about the clash of dates, why does life always do this? Glad to hear you are getting follow up; the system is doing it's best to look after you, regardless of the problems caused by overwork and overstretched resources. Be well!
ReplyDeleteDates are like magnets. They gather important occasions so they're all on the same day. Can you attend the graduation on line?
ReplyDeleteWell put- if I have two positive events in a month they will both be at the same time. A holiday card featuring you in graduation regalia is a great idea - if you’re doing it yourself you can even sneak in a holly sprig to make it seasonal and include the critters. Share the glow of your accomplishment and all that. Cheers, ceci
ReplyDeleteCan't you change your trip? The choir will still be there, but you'll not get the chance to attend the graduation with your peers again.
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought too.
DeleteWonderful music!
ReplyDeleteWhy do dates for events sometimes collide? Just another thing to work out!
Good to have an appointment with your doc to further investigate the health question.
Graduation is a big deal, and I am totally happy for you.
Yes, I hope you can get a proper grad photo out of it anyway! The cap and gown are a big deal!
ReplyDeleteYes, get it done later. The day and date makes no difference, in the end it's the photo that you put on the mantlepiece.
ReplyDeleteHow annoying! I hope you can still get your photograph. X
ReplyDeleteA few weeks after my graduation ceremony. I hired gown again as family members who couldn't attend ceremony wanted a photograph of me with them. Gown company posted gown to me.
ReplyDeleteHad extra photo's taken in the garden. Then posted gown back to company.

I never went to my graduation ceremony, I was too cool for that sort of nonsense I thought back then. I don't really regret it either, I enjoyed studying and uni. My mother was disappointed though but she got over it. I didn't attend my PGCE ceremony either, I still don't care and no one ever asks to see your certificates. Carole R.
ReplyDeleteIt's always the way isn't it, two important things and they HAVE to be on the same day, what are the odds!! Personally I would postpone the lisping choir and go for the full graduation experience and then book another trip to see the choir. But do it your way, it's you that's done all the hard work.
ReplyDeleteWell, you SHOULD get your official photo and make it into Christmas cards.
ReplyDeleteThey're only just now telling you when graduation is? Seems a little late for that -- for just the reason you encountered! I hope you can at least arrange for a photograph.
ReplyDeleteSome colleges can allow you to graduate at a later date, which accommodates resits and other courses. Although you would obviously not be in the company if your classmates, you would have the pleasure of graduating in front of family, if that option is available.
